Game Avoids Prosecution For Impersonating Officer
Westcoast rapper The Game appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday (Thursday) morning to face charges against him for impersonating a police officer.The charges which stem from a November 16th,2006 incident in which the rapper was arrested for allegedly waving down a cab and telling the driver that he was and undercover police officer.
According to reports, he then told him to race through several traffic lights on Lexington Avenue. The driver which was pulled over shortly after for driving erratically told officers that his driving was due to the undercover officer riding in the back with him.
According to TMZ, a Manhattan judge ruled an adjournment “in anticipation of dismissal,” with the stipulation that he stay out of trouble for the next six months.
Dre Speaks On Game/50 Beef
In related news, Hip Hop power player and producer Dr. Dre has finally broken his silence regarding the 50 Cent/ Game beef.
According to MTV News, the good doctor will be appearing in the 50th anniversary issue of GQ magazine and, for the first time, goes on record about the rift between his Aftermath artists 50 Cent and Game.
“It was definitely a conscious thing,” he said of his decision to not speak up in the past about the feud.
“This is something that’s between labelmates. I’ve said, ‘When you guys are ready to make some music, let’s get down. Let’s get in the studio.’ All that other stuff, that’s not for me. This is something they created, so it’s something they have to handle. I don’t feel like I have to choose a side.”
“I knew that this one wasn’t gonna go away,” he said. “I know these guys, and I know nobody is gonna back down.” .
