G-Unit Clothing Parts With Ecko
Queens rapper 50 Cent has many successful business opportunities looking at him, but one has recently taken a turn for the worst. 50's clothing brand, G-Unit Clothing, has ended it's long running 50/50 joint venture with Marc Ecko's company, Ecko Unlimited, due to lack of sales.
But, fans of the apparel line fear not, after the split, a rep for Fif explained that he still maintains full ownership of the brand, and intends to release it again by himself.
Jay-Z "Ad's" To His Resume
Jay-Z has teamed up with Steve Stoute to open Translation Advertising in New York, an agency that will help marketers reach multicultural consumers.
In other news…
Translation Advertising expects to announce its first clients soon, said Mr. Stoute, who sold Translation Consultation last October for an estimated $10 million to $15 million to the Interpublic Group of Companies in New York.
Interpublic will own 49 percent of Translation Advertising. The majority stake will be owned by Mr. Stoute, 37, and Jay-Z, 38, who will be the co-chairmen.
“As an owner of the New Jersey Nets, he’s not coaching,” Mr. Stoute said of Mr. Carter. Sean "Jay-Z" Carter's work as an endorser in ads will be independent of what he does for Translation Advertising.

We'll see what Hova does with this. It's one thing to invest in something, but it takes a real businessman to grow it. Hopefully he's got some real experience and knowledge and not just sitting at the meetings like an empty suit.

I'm not too surprised about the G-Unit clothing line company. No real urban clothing line lasts too long anyway. I mean Fubu was the hottest thing out in the mid 90s to early 2ks. Now Fubu is doodoo. Same for Karl Kani.
The only urban clothing line that has some longevity right now is Puff's Sean Jean. He's been going strong since like 98' all the way till now, a good decade.
