Joe warns fans however not to expect the same sound they've been getting from him as he wants to do something "rare."
"I'm doing something rare," he tells MTV.
"I'm taking my time with this album. I'm just picking beats. So far, it's crazy, man. I'm just walking my dogs, making sure I'm picking these beats right, and I'm gonna go for it in a super-major way. I'm trying to come out with four smashes. I got eight songs for the album already. Two of them are those outta-here joints. Nothing you can do. You know when you hear a song on the radio and the first time you hear it, you be like, 'This guy might have one'? When you get that first reaction? I got some of those sitting, waiting. I feel like it's survival of the fittest. I've been around so long — 'What could Fat Joe do that he hasn't done yet?' It's about chasing history for me. Putting up these hits."
As far as the so-called "beef" which ignited this past weekend after Dj Kay Slay resurrected an old Jay-Z verse claiming it was a diss towards Fat Joe, he says there are no problems.
"I have no beef whatsoever with Jay-Z. In fact, we share a common goal…helping to get Barack Obama elected on Nov. 4th" Joe tells Ms. Info.
