The headphones, which utilize newly developed driver technology, were conceived by Dr. Dre and mutually designed with Jimmy Iovine and Monster's sound engineers over the past two years. The high performance "Beats" headphones were designed to accurately replicate various frequencies, including low end bass, while maintaining a natural sound. Monster Cable also hosted a number of other events at the CES, including a concert featuring Mary J. Blige.
Monster Cable was founded by Noel Lee in '79 and has become the world's leading manufacturer of high performance cables. In addition to cables, the company also manufactures other products for mobile devices, amplifiers, computers, as well as home theater and audio.The "Beats by Dr. Dre" headphones will hit stores this spring with a retail price of $399.99 dollars.
Manaj, Dre’s daughter also made an appearance at the show where the announcement was made, to promote the online video and card game Street Cred from TM Media Group. At age 23, she is also the first hip-hop artist signed to TM Media’s new hip-hop imprint and plans to release a DVD titled Daddy’s Shadow.
According to reports, the DVD is based on her attempt to "break into
the music industry despite her legendary multi-millionaire father’s
objections and lack of support."

The DVD should be released this spring. Detox is slated for release sometime in June.

SERIOUS QUESTION: What's the obsession with this "Detox" album?
Because Dre is known for making Classic music (Chronic and Chronic 2001). His music is much need during this industry slump/lack of creative music. Unlike Free and Beans, I can guarantee that Dre will bring that fire and actually sell records on top of that, that's a win-win situation for hip hop. Hip-hop needs detox right now.
PS: I wanna personally here some new Dre and Snoop shit. It's been a while. Their arguably the greatest duo in history.
