Doug E. Fresh to appear in Court
Doug E. Fresh was scheduled to appear in a Romulus, MI court on May 3rd to refute charges that he assaulted an employee of Northwest Airlines. As reported by the Detroit News, airport security confirm that on April 16th the entertainer shoved an employee before beginning to board his flight at the Metropolitan Airport. The World famous Beatboxer and Hip-Hop pioneer was arrested and charged with not only breaking Airport rule codes, but for assault and battery as well. According to Sohh.com, Donnell Rawlings, more well known as “Ashy Larry” from Chappelle’s show has been terminated from his position on Ed Lovers Power 105 show “The Ed Lover Show with Egypt and Ashy.” Concrete details are sketchy as of now, but Rawlings’ spokesperson did confirm that he will no longer be apart of the morning show. “I am not able to comment at this moment,” Rawlings told SOHH, in response to questions about the situation. Clear Channel Radio has been mum as well, adding: “We don’t comment on personal matters.”
No definitive comment has been specified as the one that Donnell lost his job for, but based on speculation, his recent comment about asians caused many a complaint. These stricter radio programming values come after the Don Imus controversy, which led to a very low-tolerance environment at Power 105. At first Rawlings was only going to be suspended, but they eventually decided to fire him instead.
Rawlins served as a replacement for ousted radio personality Troy “Star” Torain, as he and BET personality Egypt joined the show last year. They have also been a hit thus far leaving many listeners disappointed with the move. We will keep you updated on this story as more information is given.
