After he and his Aphilliates’ much publicized run in with the authorities, DJ Drama is back on the scene, and is preparing a new mixtape in the Gangsta Grillz series, titled “The Streets Been Waitin”. The tape will feature the usual cast of features, such as Young Jeezy, Lil Boosie, Willie Tha Kid, Gucci Mane, & Big Kuntry, but has a much more profound purpose this time around.
He and DJ Don Cannon had been quiet since the unexpected raiding of their offices by the RIAA, in which they seized a majority of their equipment, and countless Cd’s. This sparked a shift that the industry had never seen before, as it put fear in the hearts of a lot of mixtape DJ’s.
Drama boasted a new resolve, and refused to leave the game, saying: “All these artists and DJs who have benefited off the mixtape game and found success need to step up and take charge,” said Drama. “The mixtape game is too important for us to let it go to the wayside.”
He is also said to be finishing up the official Gangsta Grillz album, and even more installments for the mixtape series in between his work as T.I’s DJ, and hosting his two weekly radio shows with his partners, Don Cannon and DJ Sense. Gangsta Grillz: “The Streets Been Waiting” will be hitting the streets soon.
