DJ Drama Assaulted By CTE Members At NOTORIOUS Premiere
by on January 13th, 2009
Atlanta's premiere of NOTORIOUS wasn't as picture perfect as its New York counterpart. According to reports, the night was damped by a physical altercation between Dj Drama and members of Young Jeezy's CTE family.
According to Aphilliates Music Group president La The Darkman, Drama was assaulted by members of Young Jeezy's entourage last night (January 12).
"There was a little scuffle. At a movie screening," La told AllHipHop.com.
"A little thing that got handled. Fake thugs with low self esteem want to pick on the DJ’s. We definitely didn't initiate this though. DJs don't go looking for beef with fake gangstas."
This comes as the second physical altercation between the two factions. According to numerous sources, La The Darkman was also involved in another confrontation with members of CTE at the Radio One awards two months ago.
Young Jeezy was reportedly in the studio during the NOTORIOUS fiasco.

why though thought drama was affiliate
I guess CTE had 2 do sumthin 2 get they street cred back after dat ass beating they got a few weeks (or months) ago at them awards lol
N o yea on my profile r new artists yall should at least check out
messed up…
On one hand you would think that if Jeezy really sat his peoples down and told them to stop doin’ Drama greasy, they’d stop;
but on the other hand these dudes are grown men, and they don’t have to listen to Jeezy if they have beefs of their own with Drama or his people…
so either way I don’t think we can really say whether it’s Jeezy who “doesn’t want to hear that” but that’s just one opinion here..
So what you can jump one guy with your crew of ten plus people.
At these funerals, eulogies for kings are given when in reality, these beautiful words are spoken for someone who wanted to be a criminal and sucked at it. Waste.
ReDef.
Stop the bullshit.
its alla botu dis money i guess he styll mad cuz Gucci Clapped his mans and killed him…HAHA Self Defense is a BITCH!@
What up babygirl? I feel what you saying but the fact of the matter is they both made each other..Without Drama we don’t know Jeezy though because he was a nobody before Drama started hosting his mixtapes..Keep in mind Jeezy already had a cd out and I hadn’t heard about it in i’m from Ga..But at the same time Drama was already on with T.I…The thing is the exposure with Jeezy put Drama on supersmash..He was already known..I didn’t know of Jeezy before “Trap or Die” though..
-—————————————————————————————————————————————-Honestly, I feel like this pertaining to the beef..Jeezy wasn’t there and we don’t know what actually popped it off..In my honest opinion Jeezy shouldn’t be saying “fuck Drama” on the account of Gucci…Gucci was out here and if Jeezy still wanted him he could’ve got at him..Beef with the nigga you got the problem with not people who associate with him..That’s that gay ass 50 shit..Anyway, it’s all kind of dependent on what Drama and Jeezy real relationship was..No one knows that but them..Not these lil gay ass niggaz starting shit in either camp..Also, Gucci and Jeezy ain’t exchanged words or had any confrontations since Gucci been out..Jeezy was just having an emotional moment that should’ve been kept to himself..Everybody know how he played Gucci on that “So Icey” song was wrong too..Some of these rappers are too emotional and jealous hearted..Anyway, I listen to both but I don’t like all that arguing like lil girls over nothing…He say, she say, because you talked to so and so type bs..Plus i’m sure niggaz got each other numbers and if it was a problem it could’ve been addressed like men..When I have a problem with someone I don’t beef with their family..I hold my tongue until I see them and that’s what it is..All that sending word and other stuff is for cowards..I like to look a man in the face if I got a problem with him to see if he really want it..
Bitch, I’m Jerm™
I see your angle but let me explain something else..The artist have to make the music for the dj’s to play it..If they wasn’t making the bs radio friendly songs then we wouldn’t have to hear them and therefore the dj wouldn’t be getting paid to play them..What comes first the chick or the egg? DJ’s have always played their personal favorites along with crowd favorites..So, again the fan has to request/like these songs for the dj’s to even play them..We walk off the dancefloor if the dj play some bs..So, what would the dj do? Switch back to what the crowd liked..Who is it really on? Fans or dj’s? rappers or dj’s?
A lot of mixtape dj’s don’t charge for slots on their mixtapes..They just want exclusives(freestyles or singles) to throw on from hot artists with hot songs..I don’t know of any dj’s I listen to that just throw folks on their mixtapes for the money..They will charge you to host your mixtape and rightfully so depending on the dj..The dj have to make their money some kind of way..If I was a no name artist and Drama hosted my mixtape who really benefits if i’m hot? Me or Drama..I would so of course he’d charge but these artist can go to lesser known dj’s and come up like Drama and Jeezy did..If they ain’t taking that route that’s on them..The more a dj is known for putting to hot mixtapes the more he should be getting paid..No different than the rapper getting more for shows because his audience has grown..
But you have to understand as far as the “single pushing” goes that’s been the case for years to break an artist..It’s not too many people that have came in the game off their cd with no video or airplay and made a name for themselves i.e. 8ball &MJG, UGK and a host of rappers from the West..But aside from that it’s so many marketing tools available that it makes the dj look minuscule in comparison..Soulja Boy used youtube and got a bigger buzz than Drama and Jeezy did off of “Trap or Die”..At the end of the day if your boy is as cold as you say he should be able to promote himself through his music some as well..Mike Jones found his lane but he drove it into the ground without a backup plan..He could’ve put out his own mixtape and released it on datpiff..Something to think about, people will praise themselves when they make it and blame others when they don’t..So, it’s on us how far we get or don’t get..
Sidenote: Record executives, company owners, rappers, tv companies(Viacom) and radio dj’s determine which records will get pushed..Not the mixtape dj’s..They are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to that side of the music industry..They can help but they can’t stop anyone’s career but everyone else I named can..
with out DJ Drama nobody would give a rat ass about Jeezy
his first independent album was “Come Shop Witt Me” nobody knew about that
all Jeezy does is Ad-Lib
