Diddy Settles Suit
Hip Hop power player Sean "Diddy" Combs has settled a civil lawsuit filed by a man who claimed Diddy allegedly assaulted him during a night out.
The lawsuit by Gerard Rechnitzer claimed that Combs punched him, pushed his girlfriend and spat on another woman on Feb. 25, 2007 outside Teddy's Nightclub at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
Diddy claims that any physical contact between Rechnitzer and himself was simply due to his quick reaction as Rechnitzer launched towards him.
"Any contact ... was caused by his forward motion against my open hand." Said Diddy.
Rechnitzer seeked unspecified damages, the details of the settlement have yet to be disclosed.
Remy's Trial Goes To Jury
In other news, Remy Ma's fate has been left in the hands of the jury as the defense and prosecutors delivered their closing statements yesterday, Monday March 24th, 2008.
Remy stands accused of shooting childhood friend Makeda Barnes Joseph twice in the abdomen after she discovered $3,000 missing from her purse which Joseph was holding the entire night.
Defense lawyer Ivan Fisher, conceded Monday that his client shot her but argued that the shooting was an accident.
Fisher says Remy demanded she [Joseph] dump her purse's contents. He said Joseph refused and struggled with the 26-year-old rapper over the bag.
Their hands hit the car's rearview mirror during the tussle, and the gun went off.

Assistant District Attorney Michael McIntosh disagreed however, citing an accident as "an unforeseen occurrence," and telling the jury, "That's not what happened here."
McIntosh also focused on the illegal handgun Remy used to shoot her friend, "Ms. Smith took an illegal .45-caliber automatic and loaded it with hollow-point bullets and got into Ms. Joseph's car."
Adding that Smith used both hands to cock the weapon as she got in, "She took every step you had to take to shoot somebody."
If convicted, Remy faces up to 25 years in prison, jury deliberation is set to begin today, Tuesday March 25th.
