Def Jam chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid has smashed reports that the label isn’t supporting Nas’ decision to the title of his December 7th album – hailing the moniker “smart.”
“We support everything our artists do, everything! We stand firmly behind and beside our artists with pride and with pleasure.” Reid tells MTV.
“Anything Nas wants to do, I completely stand beside him. Nas is prolific, he’s prophetic, he’s a genius, an amazing artist of respect. So, while I’m not sure exactly all that the title entails, I know it’s smart, so I stand behind him. That’s real.”

Nas has always been a genius, lyrically and creatively (sadly, his production hasn't always been). I CANNOT WAIT for NIGGER! HHID is a very, very hot album still in my rotation.... The kid is just NASTY.... There IS good music out there; you just have to sift through it. I still have KEITH MURRAY'S RAP-MURR-PHOBIA for album of the year (though, NOBODY bought it), followed by Redman's Red Gone Wild, but I know Nas is gonna top it!
