Chicago native Common has founded a new charity organization entitled “The Common Ground Foundation”. Based in San Francisco, the project will be overseen by executive director Jodie Blum. The project seeks the empowerment and development of urban youth via education. The organization will also advocate for AIDS/HIV prevention programs, especially targeting youth in the U.S., as well as throughout the continent of Africa. In an interview, Common said, “I always believed that if we started with the youth then we would be planting the seeds for our future to blossom.”
Capitol/Priority has announced the release of “Featuring…Eazy E”. The date for the album is December 4th. It will consist of a collection of the original N.W.A. members’ finest collaborations as well as rare unreleased solo tracks.
The album features guest appearances by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Dr. Dre, Ice-T, Mack 10 and more.
