Along with the new deal, Clipse fans should expect Re-Up Gang’s We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 3, as well as the first Clipse album not produced by the Neptunes. During an interview with Rhapsody.com the duo discussed their new label home as well as their relationships with Pharell, Lil Wayne, and Baby.
According to Pusha, the deal is worth about 1.8 million with bonus options and the right to retain the masters for anything done under their imprint, "Re up Records", anything under the Clipse however, is the property of the label.
When asked if the deal with Rick Rubin and Columbia records put a strain on the relationship of the Virginia duo and Pharell, malice said
" Nah, I think that we have a certain etiquette that we’ve always followed as friends and as business partners. You don’t have expectations of people. This whole industry is madness. If something went wrong, I couldn’t blame Pharrell. Nobody don’t care about your hardships. People just wanna see a victory. It ain’t even about friendship, Neptunes, or Star Trak. This is real people with real families tryin’ to provide a better life and that’s what it’s about. That’s what I’m in it for, not to have an attitude or be pissed at anybody."
Although they seemed to have parted on good terms there it will come as a surprise to many fans when they hear the next album and there are no neptune productions, Pusha and Malice explained this saying
"I think we made definite classic albums with the Neptunes. I’ll miss The Neptunes, but creatively we have to grow. I’m extremely happy about the music that we have now. It’s helped me, because I’ve never had to sit down with 50 beats and do the tedious work of trying to find the one beat. At the end of the day we’re still gonna be doing music with the Neptunes as well."
In other news…
Almost a year after the war of words between Lil Wayne and the Clips started, the questions are still in abundance, Rhapsody went on to ask if the news from MTV's Mixtape Monday was true, were it stated that Malice wouldn't be against recording a song with the self proclaimed best rapper alive. Malice responded saying
"The only thing he asked me is if I had a problem with Lil Wayne. I was like, “Nah. I don’t even think that way.” I felt like Wayne talked a little slick about the Clipse in his interview. We addressed that. To me it’s over." Pusha went on to say "That was an editorial mistake. I don’t got a problem with Wayne, anyway. Wayne puts out a lot of music, and I think he should get credit for that. I ain’t never gonna talk to him. The guys I rap with, they talk the language, he talks a lot."
When asked what effect their spat with little wayne had with the relationship they had with Baby, both dismissed it by stating that their family were the only people who's relationship matters to them;
"The only people I’m cool with is my family, and the guys who are out here. I’m from Virginia and I know how to be cordial with everybody. Is any rapper out here my homeboy? Hell no. Well, Baby ain’t either. Me, my brother, Gillie, and him wrote a great song together."

their album "Hell Hath No Fury" was a real dope album it is one of the most slept on albums of 07, next to Chamillionaire's "Ultimate Victory".
cokesign it aint lookin good 4 REAL rap man niggas aint supportin the artists man an lettin assholes hit number 1 when little brother, clipse, chamillionaire, etc. at the bottom of of the charts wit dam near classic albums
lets not compare the poor lackless efforts of chamillionaire and clipse albums to that of little brother... the north carolina duo who dropped some CLASSIC cuts barely did 50,000k so far and its the third week already... thats the worst case scenerio for any artist.. I hope they don't put it past themselves and keep makin that heatrock
on another note, clipse is dope, my favorite track from all their works has to be "virginia" they wrecked that track something serious they put they heart in that one... good to see they maturity come out and brush the lil wayne epidema aside..
Clipse album was not bad at all.
Not to burst ya bubble Leatherface, but Hell Hath No Fury came out in 2006
yea clipse is dope, I hope the fans realize this and start buyin they albums, they are actually worth the money. Wayne isn't even on they level.
do ya realize they said me, my brother, gillie and baby wrote a great song together or is it just me....... clipse is a good group very underated......
that's what's up, they bout to own their own masters, that's a good look...leaving Star Trak is gonna give them the opportunity to work with more producers, I hope these brothas blow

PUSHA BETTER THAN LIL WAYNE...?
MALICE BETTER THAN LIL WAYNE...?
ALOT OF YA'LL CATS DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
FACTS & FEELINGS
FACT: LIL WAYNE HAS HAD MORE SUCCESSFUL SOLO ALBUMS THAN CLIPSE
FACT: LIL WAYNE HAS HAD MORE SUCCESS FROM MIX-TAPES THAN CLIPSE
FACT: LIL WAYNE COMMANDS MORE ATTENTION THAN CLIPSE
FEELINGS: IRRELEVANT
UNTIL THE CLIPSE MEMBERS CAN MAKE PROJECTS THAT MORE PEOPLE GRAVITATE TO...LIL WAYNE WILL SMASH OUT ON THEM EVERYTIME.
NOT A LIL WAYNE FAN. I FEEL THAT CEE LO FROM THE GOODIE COULD OUT RAP HIM...BUT LIKE I SAID: FEELINGS ARE IRRELEVANT.
TABARI
Co-sign. As long as Wayne can get more attention, alotta people won't wanna hear Clipse
U can't go by how successful a person is, or how much attetion they get. That would mean 50 cent is better then everybody with only 3 albums out. Lyrically, I believe Pusha is better then wayne, and his word play is nicer.
me 2 you put wayne and pusha head up pusha wins by split decision
thats crazy to me sorry, the clipse COMBINED aren't even better than lil wayne lyrically... thats crazy talk yo, so you can put pusha t in the elite of rap alongside jada, jay, nas etc etc??? no way lil wayne > clipse
as far as lyricism goes he can tango wit wayne he can hang wit the best of them he may not be one of the best based off of success but i wudnt write em off pusha t proved it 2 me of course dis jus what i think tho
the clipse is hot and they lyrical...i just dnt think they was managed and promotioned right..u hardly ever seen them on tv..u hardly ever seen any promotion ..u cant expect to see records outside of ur homestate and surrounding states without the right PR ..i think gettn off skateboard p or watever his name is lable was a good look
The Clipse been holdin it down for a minute now, dey last album was hot, it just didn't get the buzz forreal dats all. Its VA all day, and Clipse and Neptunes are foreva.

thats crazy to me sorry, the clipse COMBINED aren't even better than lil wayne lyrically... thats crazy talk yo, so you can put pusha t in the elite of rap alongside jada, jay, nas etc etc??? no way lil wayne > clipse
So you sayin Lil Wayne's name should be next to those dudes? When you break his shit down word for word, it aint that nice. That nigga swag is offical, but I wouldn't put him on the elite list of lyricist. Don't get me wrong I got all his albums and most of his mixtapes, he's nice, but I think Push T can get at him.
Lil wayne lyrically should not be compared to them, but as far as hype, swag, flow delivery, and versatility goes, hes up there with the very best of em, he creates so much buzz being neg or pos, people seem to always have something to say when it comes to lil' wayne... pusha is no where near lil waynes stature, but I respect your opinion yo
I was just talkin about lyrics. Nobody can argue about Wayne bein at the top of the game right now, he has everything go for him. I just don't like when people make him seem like the best lyricist. The niggas nice, just not one of the best. But from your standpoint, I agree with everything your sayin.
exactly wayne is OVERLY OVERRATED lyrically he can microphone wreck but he aint a lyrical messiah like niggas be tryna put it seed right about his popularity and all dat tho
**goin
yall cant even front way way past they level nigga only hear about the clipse wen they featureing on niggaz songs last hit they had wus wit pharell dat wus grindin from wud i kn0 cuz where im from dem niggaz lame as fuck
i aint talkin bout hits or popularity doe brah im talkin bout pure rap skills and i think pusha t can go head up wit the best of them i still say he lyrically better than wayne but its just wat i think ya dig
