A NYC judge recently rescinded a plea bargain that would have had rapper Busta Rhymes avoiding jail time, and doing community service, and childrens lectures instead.
Manhattan Judge Tanya Kennedy explained that Busta’s disrespect for the law, and his recent arrest for driving around with a suspended Drivers License. “The court’s offer is off the table,” Kennedy told Busta.
While Rhymes’ attorneys declined to comment after court was adjourned, it was known before that Busta was preparing to accept the deal. He also turned down a follow-up offer of 1 year in jail for each count of assault, and a fine. He has chosen to go to Court instead.
This whole situation stems from various charges Busta has accrued over the past year, including beating up his former driver, and assaulting a fan for spitting on his vehicle. The trial has been set by Judge Kennedy for May 8th.

All I have to say is Busta should have took the Deal to avoid Jail time (if found Guilty), I’m he has done worse things then community service. But at the same time I support his decision, I mean if he feel he’s wrongfully accused, then I guess pleading guilty to cut a deal isn’t the way to go.
I mean if MJ, OJ & Robert Blake can walk clean, who knows maybe my nigga Busta has a high profile lawyer too, lets wait & see.

Bus is just delaying the inevitable---It's all just legal strategy---once he pleads guilty to criminal assault, that same guilty plea will be used as evidence in civil court to support the tort claims of assualt and battery---just like he shelled out $100,000 to that other cat he assualted, he'd better get ready to open that checkbook up again---he should just take the community service, then make a settlement offer to both of the potential plaintiffs and get it over with---it's quicker, cheaper that way---but I'm sure Benjamin Brafman or whoever his lawyer is prefers that he turns the plea down---that way the lawyer could charge by the hour for the criminal trial and get more than his fee would be just for negotiating the plea, then represent him in both civil matters and collect twice more---at about $200 per hour
