Busta Rhymes Offered Plea Deal
Things just keep getting worse for Busta Rhymes as of late. Yesterday, he turned down a prosecutor’s offer of 6 months in jail for two assault charges, but is looking to opt for a separate deal which would allow him to plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge in efforts to avoid prison.Accused of allegedly beating former driver Edward Hatchett over a back pay dispute outside of his N.Y.C office, AND a separate incident with him allegedly assaulting a fan for spitting on his vehicle, it’s safe to say he’s going to have a hard time in court.
Note to Self: Do not mess with Busta Rhymes when it comes to automobiles.
Harrison Schweiloch, the Assistant District Attorney had offered Rhymes six months in jail to handle both cases, with orders of protection for the victims, which Rhymes rejected.
Busta, who is free on $3,500 bail, was present in court but did not speak during the entire ordeal.
Police have also attempted to question Rhymes as a potential witness in the February 2006 shooting death of his bodyguard and best friend Israel Ramirez, but he refuses to assist the police in their efforts.Brandy Hit with Second Lawsuit
In other artist news, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed against R&B singer Brandy (real name Brandy Norwood) on behalf of the sons of the victim, Awatef Aboudihaj.
The suit stems from a fatal car crash in Los Angeles on December day that left the aforementioned dead in the 4 car accident.
There was no dollar amount made concrete, but Paul Philips, attorney for the plaintiffs; Mrwan Mohamed, 14, and Kareem Mohamed, 10, offered this to the media:
“(This) is a priceless case to these kids who’ve lost their mother. These boys don’t even quite understand their loss yet.”
Earlier, Aboudihaj’s parents filed a massive $50 Million dollar lawsuit against the singer, blaming her for “reckless driving”.
Although it is being recommended by case investigators, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office has not decided whether to charge Brandy with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.
If charged and convicted, Brandy, 28, could lose 1 year of her life in jail and be fined $1,000.
This lets you know, no matter how famous you are, you’re not above the law.

I'll say this... I have been in a situation where an accident occurred and some1 dear 2 me lost their life. In the case of Brandy, I'll say this, I really wish she had been paying attention while she was driving but we can't go back and change the past; what's done is done. In my case, I fell asleep at the wheel; in her case, she was either reading or sending a text message. Anybody who has ever read a text message, sent a text message, talked on their cell phone, been reading a magazine, or anything of that sort while they were driving, which pretty much covers mostly ALL drivers, should not judge her and really has nothing to say because it could have happened to any of us.
IT WAS AN ACCIDENT.
In my case, nobody sued me because everyone knew it truly was an accident. In her case, where admitted negligence was involved in the death of someone's life, AND add to the fact that she is rich, I'll admit that even I would have sued if I were that person's child, or parents. Why wouldn't you sue for gross negligence? You have no control over falling asleep but you DO have control over being on your cell phone while your eyes are supposed to be on the road. I feel like she should have to and want to compensate SOME WAY for what she did. But, am I mad at her? No. Accidents happen, man. Life happens, you know?
Then again, there are people who are going to say, "Hey, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT." We all know that she didn't mean to or WANT to get into an accident. And the fact that she has to deal with a death on her hands for the rest of her life is probably toying with her heart and her soul, as we speak. I know exactly what she is wrestling with because, on the big scheme of things, I've kind of been in her situation. I know the family did not set the $50 million dollar bounty though, because you can't really put a monetary value on someone's life, especially a loved one. That HAD to be the lawyer's doing.
In the case of Busta, his BODYGUARD knew the risks and what was at stake. The worst possible scenario happened and that's the life he chose. How can you be mad at Busta?
The thing I've learned from being involved in a tragedy is that people NEED someone to blame to help deal with their pain; to channel their newly developed hate and anger into something tangible, you know?
Again, I know what Brandy and Busta are going through on the emotional side of things and I just hope they get through it the same way I am trying to. At the end of the day, we are all people, and though growing up in the hood somehow makes us a little callous to death, it doesn't even matter when you lose someone close and dear to you, or you feel that you are responsible for taking life. It weighs on the conscious heavily, man. All, I can say is, you gotta take it day by day, and just try to live life in the present and not dwell to hard on the past or it will eat at you and eat at you until you go crazy and lose focus on the present matters at hand. Even though you may want the world to stop for you, it won't, and at the end of the day, nobody even really cares about your hurt because they still have their own lives and sagas to deal with. It's crazy, and it's harsh.... but it's real and it's just.... LIFE.

Now that I think about it...It wasnt intentional by any means...and ACCIDENTS do occur. Which is the purely what the fuck AUTO INSURANCE is there for...To cover you in case of an accident. Be it your fault, their fault, ya car being stolen, or vandalized etc. etc...Insurance "INSURES" you that u will be fine if something occured relating to the type of "INSURANCE" covergae that you have.
LIFE INSURANCE: Insures that your loved ones or whomever you listed as a beneficiary on your claim will be taking care of if something were to happen to your life.
AUTO INSURANCE: Insures that your automobile and those affected by damage caused by or to your automobile will be taken care of by the Agency and (of course) the Type of insurance coverage that you selected. We all know that people that drive new or expensive used automobiles have FULL coverage.
50 fucking million + the sons' claim as well???! That's insane! All because of a car ACCIDENT...Something ACCIDENTAL! Completely unintentional!
