With their new album “Strength and Loyalty” on Full Surface/Interscope ready to release, Bone Thugs N Harmony are now celebrating over 20 years as a group. They told Billboard.com what to look for in the album, and how it was to record with Swizz.”It’s a real versatile album,” said Krayzie Bone.”Ain’t nothing the same on there. Every song puts you in a different zone.” They’ve also called upon Neo Da Matrix, Wil.I.Am, and even Jermaine Dupri for production.
With Akon on the first single “I Tried”, which is currently doing well at #14 on The Billboard charts, The guys are heading in the right direction. “This is a song from the heart,” said Layzie Bone. “We write songs that we feel. It’s a song we wrote cause of stuff we was going through,” offered Krayzie.
They are currently deciding on what the second single should be, as it’s a choice between 2 Swizz tracks, “Candy Paint”, and “Bump In The Trunk”. “Swizz got on our level,” explained Krayzie of their relationship with the rapper/producer. “He’s really versatile, and he actually showed that working with us. He made it comfortable for us to rap over his tracks.”
Surprising additions to the album include the Bow Wow, and Mariah Carey featured “Lil Love”, and even a gospel-like track with Yolanda Adams. On top of all of this, Bone Thugs are just finishing up the filming of their first movie, “I Tried”., and recent works with Collie Budz, Frankie J, and even DJ Khaled. They are also still working with their own artists/record labels Thugline, and MoThugs as well.
“It’s a ‘what if?’ movie,” explains Layzie. “Like, what if Bone Thugs-N-Harmony would have taken that one-way bus ticket to L.A. and never would have got on with Eazy-E?” Seeing that this is only the second album that BT will release as a 3 man team, after Bizzy left in 2003, and with Flesh serving an 11 year sentence “Strength and Loyalty” will show just what the group has left to offer. It is set to release on May 8th.

I'm a big fan of Bone Thugz, but I'm not so sure 'bout this album yet...It's not the same without Bizzy but it's his own damn fault he's not in the group anymore...Swizz Beats was never one of my favorite producers though, he's okay at best to me...I hope he duz a good job for Bone's sake...I might cop it after I listen to it first.

Naw, I am really skeptical about this upcoming album. It is not the same without Bizzy in the corner. Yea, he left the group to pursue his solo career & they said that he's more willing to come back to the group (If ya don't believe me, go look it up in the upcoming magazine releases of any hip hop mag) & he chose to opt out on the Full Surface contract & join wit Virgin Records to record the new LP. So, the Bone boyz decided to hire a bunch of people to fill that void & if you listen to "Thug Stories", you would understand. I am a huge Bone fan, but I won't buy the album, they will never be the same until they reunite wit both Bizzy & Flesh. With Swizz, I dunno if that chemistry will work, hopefully it will. But, I feel the album will kinda do well but will take a big slide cuz real Bone fans, that were loyal to the group since "Creepin' on the Come Up", will start to drift away cuz of the loss chemistry. But, I wish them the best of luck for this release and Bizzy on his upcoming solo release. BRING BACK BIZZY & FLESH!!!!!
Well, I ono... To alot of ppl, Bizzy was the best out of the group... but on the real... nobody could really MURDER a track like Krayzie... But I got the majority of Bizzy's solo albums n them joints thump
