After a brief hiatus from the rap game following the poor performance of the Idlewild soundtrack, Dre popped back up on the scene, appearing on a multitude of artists tracks. From Devin The Dudes “What a Job”, to Rich Boys huge remix “Throw Some D’s”, and even DJ Unks “Walk it Out”, 3000 was getting it in.
“I think [Outkast DJ Cutmaster Swift] told me that it would be a good idea to get on ‘Walk It Out’ ‘cause I like the song anyway,” he said. “You know, Atlanta [is] a whole ‘nother thing. The song was a jamming song, and it’s like, why not? They sent an instrumental — let me see what I can do to it.
“It’s all about if I can write to it, because I actually get a lot of offers to be on songs I would really like to be on, but I just can’t write in time. I be doing so much, it’s crazy. But I wrote my little piece, went to the studio, put it down and they dug it. That was it. To me, it’s all about the beat. If it’s jammin’ so hard when you writin’ to it, you just wanna say something.”
Even though Andre has been doing a lot of acting lately, like the Will Ferrell basketball comedy “Semi Pro”, he just couldn’t stay away from the music, appearing on the new UGK single.
“Juicy J did the beat and sent it over,” he said. “It was jammin’ and I started writing. I hit Bun B on text [message] and said, ‘Is it too late for me to get on this song?’ — because they were a weekend away from finishing up the album. Bun sent me back a message: ‘What? Of course not.’ “What’s funny is I tried to rap my verse to the beat so many times and it just didn’t feel right,” he continued. “[My verse] is more like a conversational piece. So I told the engineer to drop the beat out, and we tried it that way. It worked and we just left it in like that. Honestly, I never thought we’d get away with it because that’s a long-ass motherfuckin verse!”
Dre and Big Boi have been mum on the details so far, but 3000 did reveal that they were discussing concepts for a new album, which may be in the same Vein as their dual solo albums “Speakerboxx/The Love Below”. “Really, I gotta find out what I’m tryin’ to say,” he said. “It’s almost like a picnic — you call your auntie and say, ‘You bringin’ some greens? Yeah? OK, I’m not gonna bring any greens.’ I gotta find out what I gotta cook up. But to quote James Brown, ‘Whatever it is, it’s got to be funky.’ “

hey ya
that ugk and outkast song is tha joint, for real!
and wu tang clan is the greatest hip hop group of all time. fuck what ya heard.
I CAN PROVE TO YOU WHO IS THE GREATEST HIP HIP GROUP OF ALL TIME!!!!
Longevity is the key word here; because of all time denotes (for a long time).
Wu Tang, let's face it they started to decline after the 2nd album. They went their
separted directions and couldn't keep the chemistry up for total success. Fugees,
were tight as well as talented, but couldn't get pass the hump of mainstream
recognition. They started bickering amongst themselves for one reason or another
and fell apart. RUN DMC set the groundwork for most every other group in hiphip,
but couldn't adapt time the everchanging audience; from conscience hip hop to
gangsta rap and so on. NWA...founded gangsta rap in the mainstream. They just
weren't versatile enough to change up their delivery and eventually got too
regional. Tribe Called Quest...too ahead of their time and unfortunately had
internal problems along with label constrictions. Outkast...still have a significant
fanbase...appeal to the most people (from thugs, to nerds, to musicians, to ladies,
to hiphop traditionalists).
They've taken hip hip to commercial ends without compromising street credability.
They can make songs that play in the club and make you contemplate changing the
system. They've got album sales and they've innovated and changed the hiphop
landscape of what a hiphop artist can and can't do. So...let's be real. No other
group in hiphop has had the impact this group has...OUTKAST IS THE GREATEST HIPHOP
GROUP OF ALL TIME!!!!

Most lyrical rapper today: NAS... he dropped a classic/near classic 6 months ago. Nuff said. Jay dropped a 1/2way decent joint (4 him) that is nastier than what any of these dudes can put out, except maybe Jada & Beans... What's so lyrical about Fab? He's wack... gimmicky ass dude... If he wanna prove 2 me that he can rhyme, we'll see on this album comin up... Weezy? Holla @ Gilly... Cass & Pap can get it but these 2 dudes need 2 put a damn ALBUM out... Banks... ehhhh...
Most lyrical rappers who've DROPPED an album in the last 365 days:
1. Nas
2. Jay-Z
3. AZ
4. Redman
5. Ghostface (the Wu just doesn't sell anymore)
6. Method Man (what r u gonna do???)
7. Lupe Fiasco (though, I'm gonna have 2 listen to it again 2 be sure)
8. Drawin a blank after this... That was just off the toppa my head... didn't the Roots drop an album in the last year????
That fuckin cartoon is hot yo my son love that shit he a talented dude but he is kinda weird but its cool though its what makes him original
