Akon Tries To Take Case To Trial

http://media.defsounds.com/uploads/assets/230/254/10122/asset.jpgAliaune Thiam, also known as Akon, will be looking to take his charges to trial, so that the outcome will be decided by a jury. Akon is accused of hurting Abby Rosa after he threw a 15 year-old boy off stage at a show in NY on June 17th of 2007. The boy landed on Rosa and she claims she suffered a concussion as a result of the impact.

Akon pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment.

Akon's lawyer, Andrea Zellan said legal proceedings will begin on Dec. 1 unless both parties can negotiate an out of court settlement.

"We are pleased that Judge Epstein adjourned the case to a date certain for either a trial or a negotiated resolution," Zellan said in a prepared statement. "Akon looks forward to putting this incident behind him, and in the meantime he will continue to meet every requirement set forth by the court."

Smart thing to do would be just kick the kid out of the concert for being an idiot. That’s enough humiliation as it is. Have him dragged through the crowd to the exit by security and there you go.
