Disregarding the lack of buzz from both fans and critics alike, 50 has thrown out some bold words and has put his solo career on the line.
“They would like to see Kanye West give me a problem because I’ve worked myself into a space where I’ve become the favorite,” Fif told SOHH. “Everybody roots against the underdog when he goes against the favorite.
“Put it like this,” 50 continued. “Let’s raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.
“And I bet this, when Kanye West’s sales come in, he’s gonna have a 70% decrease [the second week] ‘cause Def Jam is gonna buy records to keep him closer to 50 Cent,” the Queens rapper added. “So watch the first week and then watch the second week. Watch his shit drop off the planet. We keep our angles covered before we make a decent bet.” Said 50.
50’s “Curtis” and Kanye’s “Graduation” are scheduled to hit stores on September 11th, 2007.

50 – marketing genious, used to have that real hood delivery (i don’t like his newer stuff, but old 50 was right)(marketing wise…..he only has one song on the radio and has a ridiculous amount of buzz from talking) He talks shit to the streets and sings to the suburbs.
Kanye – soulful producer/rapper, highly charismatic to mainstream and conscious hip hop fans (despite his spurts of arrogance)(people hold standards to kanye so he doesn’t necessarily have to release too much, though the mixtape was hot shit and def gave him proper buzz)
The thing about 50 is he always has hidden wires somewhere (remember how he screwed over Game? I think dude is still payin 50) Which is making me wonder why he would make this announcement. Perhaps Ye has a single or two with some people under 50 so that 50 gets paid regardless (so why not make such a comment, which makes your fans by your album, and kanye fans(and 50 haters) actually buy Graduation, to get money on his artists’ feature singles) Now that’s just speculation right there cuz I don’t know the track listing…but it’s not completely off to think that 50 may have that in mind.
Also, something else I think is being underestimated with concious hip hop fans is Ye’s work on Common’s “Finding Forever”. That short yet classic album def has those heads in Ye’s favor.
The other thing funny about this is that if he loses he can simply say “Kanye never agreed”, because he said “Let’s raise the stakes….”. There weren’t any made if Kanye (the only person really able to accept the challenge) didn’t agree. Maybe I’m just thinking too much though.

August 11, 2007. Looks like the Clash Of The Titans that was scheduled to take place between 50 Cent’s album Curtis and Kanye West’s album Graduation is not going to happen. According to one of MediaTakeOut.com’s most reliable Def Jam sources – Kanye West’s album will not be released on September 11th.
According to a top Def Jam exec, the battle is officially over. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, “It sounded like a good idea at first, but not anymore … It was just a friendly competition and now [50 Cent’s team] is trying to make it into a battle to the death.” The exec added, “Kanye is one of [Def Jam’s] most successful artist, we’re not going to risk damaging his career with this feud.”
50 Cent is makin excuses already! G-Unit is officially dead September 11th if Kanye West debuts at number 1.
