Those document that we see on the smokinggun.com and other sites are legitimate copies of documents that are easily attainable from the courthouse, as they are matters of public record... He doesn't have that many endorsements, and the endorsements he has aren't paying out like that, otherwise, the companies would not be making any profit...not too mention endorsements are paid out over a number of years...(we're not talking about a Lebron James/Nike type of endorsements)Lebron didn't even get $90 million up front, it's over the life of the contract of 7 years...what are we talking about when speak about about 50 's endorsements: G-Unit sneakers with Reebok, The vitamin water, and the video game, give or take a few others ?

No, I do not believe that Jay-Z is worth $300 million dollars, for the following reasons:

1. He "used" to own an undivided 1/3 interest of Roc-a Fella Records;

2. In 1997, Def Jam bought 1/2 of the Roc for only $2.5 million, creating a 50/50 joint venture between the Roc and Def Jam(therefore, Jay's take would be 1/3 of 1/2 of the total proceeds);

3.Jay's first 2 albums didn't sell shit during the life of the albums (so subtract those 2 albums form the profitability eqaution, hell Reasonable doubt went platinum many, many years later...check it out @ RIAA.com....do a gold and platinum search);

4.No other Roc artist or group sold shit up until 2003, when Kanye was introduced to the world as a rapper(Jay-z was the Roc's only profitable artist...his biggest selling album was in 1998, at 4 million copies...so for all of his albums, you'd have to subtract out Def Jam's 1/2 cut of the total, then devide the rest by 3, and this is only after the reatailer, etc get their cut);

5.In 2003, Def Jam bought the outstanding 50% of the Roc from Jay, Dame and Biggs, for a combined $30 million dollars, or put another way, $10 million each...Dame gave an interview on the Russ Parr Morning show where he got testy with Supa Ken, after he asked Dame that if Dame once valued the Roc @ over $300 million, then how come his payout was just $10 million dollars. Dame replied that he's a business man, and that what business men do, they build a company up, over-estimate it's value, and then sell it for a profit. Also, if you can remember when Russell Simmons was embroiled in that lawsuit where he had to testify as to the value of Phat Farm. The plaintiff was seeking tons of money as his just share for his contributins to the company. The plaintiff introduced into evidence a copy of an interview where Russ stated that he did over $345 million in sales in 2004; he then said that he inflated the value of the company in interviews, because it is what people in the industry do in order to appear more sucessful to appeal to more consumer, and as a marketing device to project the image of a monolithic company. He then testified and provided supporting evidence (tax returns, and financial statements) that proved that Phat Farm's net value was about $35 million dollar, after the retailers, suppliers, cloth manufactures, etc, etc, etc, got their pieces of the pie. Just think about this, if Sean Jean is doing $250 million a year in sales, then how could Puff only be worth $300 million? When these people are talking about albums sold and clothing sales they are talking about gross figures...before the distributors get their piece, before retailers get their piece, etc, etc, etc.
