50 Cent Fears For Hip Hop
New York rapper 50 Cent fears the future of Hip Hop due to poor record sales which will stop record executives from handing out huge contracts such as the one he signed back in 2002.“The music business is going to change. It’s going to be less marketing dollars. They (executives) gonna start doing single deals, because they make the money with ring tones, as opposed to doing full albums.” Fif told Contact News.
“If it keeps going the way that it’s going, there won’t be another 50 Cent. There won’t be another person that makes it.”
50 Cent’s upcoming LP, Curtis, is set for release on September 11th, 2007.
Akon Doubles Up
R&B crooner Akon will be re-releasing his last LP, “Konvicted”, along with a special edition DVD on August 28th.
According to BillBoard.com, the CD portion will include three new songs, including “Sorry, Blame It on Me,” which debuted last week at a career-best No. 7 on the BillBoard Hot 100, and “Rush” featuring Kardinal Offishall, which will appear in the upcoming film “Rush Hour 3.
The DVD features a documentary as well as music videos.
