With numerous battles under his belt, including Cardi, Def Jams Sam Scarfo, and even himself, it was only a matter of time before Dipset member 40 Cal released the second part in his series, Broken Safety 2.
Going the Indie route, like many of his peers, the album will be done through respected company Babygrande. Fully confident in his set, and the brand that they have, he plans to take his signature complex metaphors and witty street logic, and go hard.
“The motto this year is I do it, I did it and I do it again,” says 40 Cal. “This brand is here and it ain’t goin’ no where. Diplomats is more than a label, we like blood.”
Not surprising, all of his fellow members will be appearing on the LP, including everyone from Camron to Hell Rell. He even is blessed with a feature from R&B crooner Akon. 40 has been patiently waiting for this for a long time. The market is ready for him, and he hopes to move some decent units with a solo venture.
With features on nearly all of the recently successful Dipset compilations, Cal hopes that this will translate into his heavy street fanbase supporting him. In others news, The newly appointed Urban music President of Island Records, Jermaine Dupri has called on his former Columbia artists, Jagged Edge, and has signed them to a new deal.
Dupri seems to be bulking up his label, as he also signed Cali-Bred artist Hot Dollar, who is currently working on his own Debut album.
These are big moves for Jermaine, who just last year stepped down from his position at Virgin Records, where he had considerable success with southern artists Dem Franchise Boyz, and Big Boi.

On the real, battle rappers and freestyle rappers like 40 cal and Millz, Writer, all these niggas are nice, but theres a difference between rappin and spittin metaphors on the freestyle tip, and trying to fit your lyrics into 16 bars, then spittin a chorus or hook, makin a bridge, etc. I dont think 40 cal lacks any lyrics, but I dont think anybody really wants to hear 15-16 cuts of this nigga.....Id much rather hear him freestyle, thats where I think he's at his best....
40 cal gonna go double wood like the rest of the dipset nightmare but I will say that 40 got a hell of a freestyle flow. He's gonna need an image makeover to make real waves in the game.

That’s real shit, Cassidy had a problem doing that on his first album. I don’t think 40 Cal gonna get the formula to the next album he probably puts out. It’s gonna be like 4 or 5 good songs on that album though.
