With the 20th anniversary of his critically acclaimed 1994 debut album, Illmatic, right around the corner, legendary New York rapper Nas is currently in talks with Microsoft’s Xbox Entertainment Studios for a new television series “loosely” based on his life in the 90’s coming up as a Hip Hop artist.

As reported by Deadline, Nas’ new television series is titled “Street Dreams,” and is set in the 1990’s at Long Island’s Queensbridge housing complex, where Nas grew up, and is based on music, family and the trials and tribulations of coming up in the rap game.

According to the report, Street Dreams is currently in development and is being written/directed by Jonathan Levine, with Nas also involved in the writing and music of the series.
