Last year we reported that The Toronto Raptors began a new partnership with Drake as they gave the rapper an executive position with the franchise, and named him Global Ambassador for the team. Now, with Drake having a position with the team, the Raptors will host “Drake Night” later this month.

The Toronto Raptors have announced that they will host “Drake Night” when the Brooklyn Nets come to town on January 11th.

For “Drake Night,” the Raptors will team up with OVO Sound and release a limited edition “Drake Night” tee-shirt that will be given to fans as they enter the Air Canada Centre before the game versus the Nets tips off.

In other Drake news:

The Toronto Raptors are thinking about re-branding the team, and changing their colors to the OVO staple black-and-gold.

As reported by The Toronto Star, the Raptors are weighing the possibility of a re-branding effort that would involve a black-and-gold color scheme inspired by Drake’s OVO imprint.

According to the report, if it does happen, the new OVO Sound color scheme would go into effect for the 2015-16 NBA season, which is also the year that the Raptors will host NBA All Star Weekend at the Air Canada Centre.

To add, according to another report by The Toronto Sun, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) president Tim Leiweke said multiple color schemes are currently under consideration by the Raptors.
