T.I. has been dropping remixes on a consistent basis since being released from jail; he also has been in the lab readying his 8th studio album, but he says he is in no rush to release the album, so he’s taking his time, and gave a tentative release date for top of next year in February.

In an interview with The BoomBox, Tip speaks on getting the follow up to 2010’s No Mercy complete:

“I mean, I don’t feel a certain amount of pressure to get it done by a certain time. I feel the usual pressure of making an album my life, like every time I do an album I feel the pressure of needing to make it my life, you know? But I take that pressure and apply it to my creative process. The tentative date is looking like February.”

Tip also says he has something to prove to himself, and that’s the reason he’s been going hard on his recent drops:

“Nah. I mean, I got something to prove to myself. I ain’t got nothing to prove to nobody else ’cause at the end of the day, I’m a marquee artist and I think my numbers speak for themselves. I’m on my eighth album and ain’t nobody eight albums in right now, who’s really relevant. Besides Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, it ain’t a lot. You know what I’m saying? Ain’t a lot. So, I got something to prove to myself, not nobody else. I always knew and I will always know what I’m capable of.”
