With-in the past hour on MTV2, the top 5 MC’s for MTV’s 7th annual Hottest MC In The Game were revealed, and won the honor of the Hottest MC In The Game.

            Yes indeed I heard Crooked killed it too as always on Slaughterhouse songs. But that’s cause he never has to worry about making albums, he just has to spit 2 minute freestyles and has 18 features on all of his 6 track EPs.

      MTV stated they included lyrics in their evaluation of “hotness.”

      How the FUCK is Rick Ross “hot”? Which recent single of his is blowing up on the charts? “You the Boss” ft. Nicki Minaj peaked at no.62 on the Hot 100, and “I Love My Bitches” failed to even make the list.

      Which featured single that Ross was on as of late was hot? Besides “John” (which I think was horrendous), “I’m on One” (whack), and “That Way” (With Wale and Jeremih, also whack), NOTHING he hopped on was a hit. With the latter peaking at no.49 at best. “Tupac Back” was okay.

      Is his next album stirring up hype? Not really.. The only reason why he’s even bare-able is because the production on the track saved him. That, and the artist he’s collaborating with usually.  Tony Yayo is horrible, but the production on his first album was dope, and he had features from the G-Unit in their prime and Eminem to help him.  Same goes for Ross. His flow, his voice, his lyrics, his subject matter, his persona is ALL WHACK. He’s lucky he has kept a good relationship with the popular artists out there that are willing to work with him and make his music seem good…

          Well, in my opinion, perhaps, Kanye is the “hottest” mc right now. He swept the grammy charts, he had a really well put together solo album- one of the year’s highlights which went platinum, a solid collaborative effort with Jay-Z which ALSO went platinum, hot singles in Runaway, All of the Lights, Power, Niggas in Paris, Otis, and some heavy production. He’s also hopped on a few tracks and done fairly well.

          J.Cole in my opinion, comes in at no. 2. He had one of the most anticipated albums of the year and came out with a really impressive debut. No. 1 album which eventually went gold. Popular singles in “Can’t Get Enough”, and “Work Out”, the latter reaching top 20 on the Hot 100, killed some feature songs, and had some sick ass production, with HiiiPower being easily one of the stand-out tracks of the year (if not the best song of the year). 

          I think it was a blasphemy that he wasn’t anywhere in the list.
          (Kendrick Lamar, too).

            Yeah but the same you said about Ross, J. Cole really hasn’t done much in terms of radio and the Hot 100. He’s done a little… but not much. And if anyone is bringing in someone for a feature and the decision is money based… 9 out of 10 rappers take Cole over Ross every time.

    A few are saying  “it says hottest mc not rapper.” Two things…few MTV makes Jersey Shore. Snooki has her own spin off. They make it cool to be 16 and pregnant. Can’t raise be responsible on your own? Lets give you a show and make it cool to be adolescent pregnant. That ish happens and I’m sorry but it ain’t cool at all. MTV glorifes that garbage SECOND, the average teeny bopper fan who watches ALL that ish won’t, can’t and don’t know the difference between a ” hot MC” and a “hot rapper”. these kids today live by that ish. Ross is garbage and the beats are what make him dope. That’s why I have a problem with this corny list. Not even gonna go into definitions but an MC can become a rapper but rappers cannot MC hence this preposterous list. Closest person to an MC is Ye and das all.
