Report: Suspect indicted in death of rapper Slim Dunkin
The man accused of fatally shooting Atlanta rapper Slim Dunkin was indicted Tuesday by a grand jury, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced

Rapper Vinson Hardimon, 29, also known as Young Vito, was formally charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Hardimon allegedly killed 24-year-old Mario Hamilton, also known as Slim Dunkin, during a recording session at a studio on Memorial Drive in Atlanta on Dec. 16, 2011.

Hardimon, who was waiting for his turn in the recording booth, is accused of entering the booth and punching Hamilton, authorities said. During the fight, Hamilton was shot in the chest, according to the investigation. Hardimon allegedly fled the scene.

Hamilton was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Hardimon, who was on bond on an aggravated assault charge at the time, turned himself in to authorities 10 days after the shooting.

A trial date has not yet been set.
