Lil Wayne recently sat down with MTV and spoke on his I don’t like New York comments, and said he wasn’t concerned with the backlash, because he just says what he wants to and doesn’t care who doesn’t like it.

Wayne told MTV:

“I have to be honest with you, dog: All I do is work, and I swear to God, I don’t even know the reaction. If I knew the reaction I’d know how to be able to answer that question, but I don’t know the reaction. I just say what I want to say, do what I want to do and fuck who don’t like it.”

As the interview continued, Lil Wayne added that he doesn’t listen to other artists music; he only listens to himself.

After Lil Wayne’s interview with MTV hit the net, Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg got word of what Wayne had to say, and wasn’t feeling it too much and called the rapper out for being a hypocrite, as he said:

That’s not cool honestly, it sounds ignorant. Let me get this straight, sorry to bring up old ish, but you say you don’t care what anyone thinks about what you say, however when someone says something that you don’t like, you pull all your artists from a concert. I’m just saying… there’s a little bit of hypocrisy there. (referring to Lil Wayne pulling all the Young Money artist from Summer Jam due to him not liking a comment Rosenberg made towards Nicki Minaj).

Rosenberg adds in response to Lil Wayne saying that all he does is listen to himself:

Furthermore, saying you really don’t listen to anyone but yourself. It just kinda shows disrespect for your peers and for the craft in general. All you do supposedly is just to listen to yourself to improve; you must not be paying very much attention to yourself, because you’ve not been improving to me though.
