As Def Sounds previously reported, Erykah Badu blasted Papoose claiming that she never gave him permission to use her vocals on the song “Cure” from The Nacimera Dream and that they were recorded a decade ago. Now, Papoose gives another side of the story.
During a recent interview with ThisIs50’s Young Jack Thriller, Papoose speaks on featuring Erykah Badu on The Nacimera Dream.
When asked if he got in the studio with Badu, Papoose states:
Nah [I didn’t get in the studio with her], I was overseas touring. We were on the phone back and forth. She sounded like the queen, Erykah Badu.
Although Papoose didn’t address Badu’s claim of not giving him permission to use her vocals for “Cure,” it looks like someone isn’t telling the truth about the whole situation as Badu claimed she didn’t give Pap permission, but Pap says he was back and forth with her on the phone speaking on the verse.
