As Def Sounds previously reported, Lupe Fiasco announced that he cancelled Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt.2. At the time the Chicago rapper noted that he would that he would reveal the title for the album that will be released in F&L2 Part 2′s place later in the year. Now, the time has come and Lupe Fiasco announces the title of his next studio album.

Lupe Fiasco took to his Twitter page, @LupeFiasco, to announce the title of his forthcoming album as Tetsuo & Youth.

Tetsuo & Youth does not have a confirmed release date as of this time, but it is slated to be released in 2013.

For those wondering what the album title means, LupEND posted a pretty logical explanation:

If you check google, there are several Tetsuo’s. The most logical would be Tetsuo Shima though as he is a character featured in the Akira manga series/movie. If you remember, Lupe had Akira as his Profile pic on Twitter not too long ago.

Tetsuo becomes the main antagonist in the story, which fits to Lupe’s perception in the world of Hip Hop within the last few years. This also ties in with the story told in American Terrorist pt. 2 (Superheroes.)
