Lil Boosie, who is currently serving an 8-year sentence in the Louisiana State Penitentiary, is just a couple weeks away from freedom.

As reported by Miss Info, and confirmed by Bun B, Lil Boosie will be released from prison on February 13th after serving about 5-years of an 8-year sentence on drug charges.

Lil Boosie’s sentence stemmed from a 2008 parole violation for a third offense for possession of marijuana. Then, in 2011, Boosie pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle drugs into prison, and was also hit with a first-degree murder charge, in which he was acquitted of in 2012.

According to various reports, Boosie, who is now 31-years-old, will be heading back into the studio to record new music once he is a free man.
