Last year, while in Atlanta, Kendrick Lamar stopped by The Rickey Smiley Show, and chopped it up with the crew. Now, footage of the interview finally surfaces.

During the interview, Kendrick spoke on his West Coast influence and the artists out of the West that he feels he got most of his inspiration from.

When asked which top three artists he may be a mixture of, Kendrick replied:

A mixture of? [I’m] probably more West Coast influenced – a little bit Kurupt, Pac, and some content of Cube.

As the interview continued, K.Dot is asked about his music being some of the best music to smoke out too, and he states that it’s just his West Coast influence:

I think it’s really just the West coast influence, truthfully. I come up under Dre and under Snoop. Just listening to them over the years, it’s really just that melodic feel that I could never escape, a lot of people tell me [that my music is the best to get smoked out too], that’s the funny part.
