New York rapper Ja Rule is set to start his 2 year long prison sentence stemming from a 2007 arrest for possession of a weapon.
At the time of the arrest, police said they found a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun in a rear door of his $250,000-plus Maybach sports car, which they’d said they’d stopped for speeding as he left a concert at Manhattan’s Beacon Theater on July 22, 2007.
Ja Rule appeared on “Good Day New York,” on Monday and spoke on his prison bid, as he stated: “There’s nothing I could really do but own up to the situation.”
The rapper also took twitter earlier this afternoon and shouted out his fans, he tweeted: “Out on my patio having my last free moment I love all my fans Pain is love!!!”
While incarcerated Ja Rule will release his new studio album, Pain Is Love 2, which was originally due to release this week, but was pushed back until later this summer.
Ja Rule is slated to end his prison sentence in June 2013, but under state prison policies he might be able to earn up to six months good time and end his sentence early by meeting requirements for good behavior and other standards.
