Grammy Award Nominated Hip-Hop and R&B music producer and DJ, Don Cannon has been appointed as Def Jam’s Vice President of A&R, and will be based in Atlanta.
According to Island Def Jam’s website, as part of his new position, Cannon will oversee current and upcoming new artist projects, as well as scout for new talent while reporting to Def Jam’s head A&R, Karen Kwak and working side by side with President & COO, Steve Bartels.
Don Cannon issued a statement on his new position with Def Jam:
A music person can only dream about being at Def Jam, the most important hip-hop destination in the world. I feel I have a cutting edge vision for where the culture and hip-hop are heading and I’m excited to be joining the team. I’m already working 24/7 to drive the innovation of music forward and I’m confident we’ll land some big successes in the very near future
