And the saga continues… last week after threats from the North Carolina faction of the Gangster Disciple street gang were made towards Rick Ross, tour dates in Greensboro, NC and Charlotte, NC were cancelled, which led to the remainder of the MMG Tour being called off. Then last night, Ross vehemently denied that the threats had anything to do with the tour being shut down, and he placed the blame on the show promoters. Now, new information has turned up that Chicago police got wind of the footage, and have taken the threats seriously enough to launch an investigation and look into one of the very first videos put online of the Chicago faction of the GD’s threatening the Miami rapper.

As reported by TMZ, the Chicago Police Department took the videotaped message from members of the Chicago-based Gangster Disciples, in which they demand Rick Ross cut a check or be dealt with, very serious.

Sources for the CPD told the publication that “the Chicago PD was made aware of the video, and will be taking a closer look at the YouTube post.”

During Ross’ interview with 99 Jamz when he denied that gang threats had anything to do with him shutting down the tour, Ross stated:

I was just in Chicago a week and a half ago, that’s the birthplace of the GD’s, and if I went to Chicago and handled my business like I did, I have no problem going to North Carolina, or South Carolina

According to the videotaped message made by the GD’s, Ross didn’t handle his business like he suggested, because he was surrounded by security, and he wasn’t able to be approached.
