Grammy award winning producer 9th Wonder announced that he would release his major label debut almost 4 years ago, and during them 4 years the project was put on hold for numerous reasons, now finally today 9th announced a release date for his often delayed The Wonder Years album.
In a statement given to AHH, 9th Wonder revealed that The Wonder Years project will be released on September 27th and will feature a star studded line-up as he has enlisted Marsha Ambrosius, Kendrick Lamar, Warren G., Big K.R.I.T., David Banner, Erykah Badu, Murs, Mac Miller, Big Remo, Rhapsody and Phonte.
9th addressed the reasoning for dropping the album now, as he went on to say:
“If there was ever a better time to express how I feel about Hip-Hop music, black music, or just music in general, it would be to do it now, on this project”
My career has been from the depths of the underground, to the pop charts, but it has always stayed my sound, and what I believed in to be pure. Welcome to the Wonder Years.”
The album originally planned to be released through Warner Bros, will be released on his own imprint, It’s A Wonderful World Music Group.
