You Only Get One Chance to Make a First Impression

Going around the internet, I had heard a clip of Big L’s first guest verse with Lord Finesse of the Diggin’ in the Crates rap group on the remix of “Yes You May”. And it got me to thinking about some of hip hop’s greatest rookie guest appearances. So here’s a list of a few rappers that I think deserve mentioning.
Jeru The Damaja-I’m The Man
I remember the first time I heard his verse off of Gangstarr’s “Daily Operation”. I must have pressed rewind a least 20 times. Led to a lot of people coppin the Sun Rises In The East. Just drag that bar to about
2:51 you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Jay-Z- Da Graveyard
With Big L and Gangstarr on the track Jay holds his own with the rap heavyweights. Maybe not his official first work but I’m not posting the hawaiian shirt song.
Big L- Yes You May rmx
With Big L’s verse on this track it proves that the man was made to spit on a mic.
Nas- Live At The BBQ
Probablly one of the most notable rookie appearances I mean just listen to what he’s saying. Off of Main Source’s Breaking Atoms. Side Note: See if you can guess how many times Nas’s has sampled the lyrics from this track for other albums.
Biggie-A bunch of ni**as
Is it just me or does Gangstarr have an ear for which artist to perform with.
2 pac-All around the World
I assumed most of you already knew this track not a crazy verse from the late great but still important i guess and Jokesta wont leave me alone until I post this lol. 2-pac go head and rock this.

Honestly.....in my eyes....big l was better then biggie....I mean aint hating nobody got love 2 big....2 me big l didn't get enough love.....maybe befuz he wasn't as main stream.....fuck it they both spitters
I still got a stretch & bobbito tape where BIG L brought JAY-Z to the station with him, it was the first time J announced ROCAFELLA records and had the 1st single with him. It's crazy cause J got treated like a nobody, But truth be told BIG L spit some raw shit & JAY spit some old school jibberish. And another thing JAY used one of L's lines from that night on a song later(that's wack as hell).
Jay has been takin rhymes from Big L and Biggie his old raps were nice But now he's phony but I still gotta listen to "In My Life Time remix"
Pusha_ton2k, thats reaaaaal talk. Big L was a beast... spittin like that in 92? Come onnnn... Thats crazy.
Guru da shit "Big L Rest In Peace", sendin luv out 2 Pac "kickin it wit' Jackie Wilson & Sam Cook" up in Thugz Mansion, & all respect 2 Big'z, we still Takin' Notes
gotta give props to Big L but Gang Starr wuzent on Da Graveyard it wuz Lord Finesse Party Arty and more
