Republican National Convention: Battle rappers or legitimate politicians?

by MATIOS

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

Republican National Convention: Battle rappers or legitimate politicians?

I’m not sure about how I feel about this whole RNC business.  On one hand, I had the shit scared out of me by 15,000 white folks in Minnesota chanting “Drill, Baby, Drill,” without really considering the affect it might have on this fragile little thing we live on called OUR PLANET.

On the other, I felt like I saw into the future, and it made me cry.  The way these folks were running their mouths, Defsounds, I would’ve sworn it was you.  Instead of focusing on issues and the plans they have to turn the economy around, create more jobs, how the “tax-breaks” might help out everybody instead of … a certain few … they went in on the stuff that didn’t matter.

Now, to make this more concrete, I’d like to point out a member under the alias of Marquise de Sade, who has brought up some things to think about on different articles.  And how when people disagreed with him (instead of saying I disagree and saying why), they’d say things like “You use the n-word a lot,” … when that has nothing to do with what he was saying.

So imagine the Republicans doing that same “Well, your ideas are good so let me talk about the shit that’d make the crowd go crazy" thing. Change the Republicans into rappers and change RNC to Scribble Jam ’08, and then listen to some MC’s talk about having served in the military, been a POW, commitment to the country, no-holds-barred approach to politics, and their family values.  Fasho.  The crowd is going wild.

Then, imagine that one rapper goes so far as to say the difference between her and a four-legged beast is: (drum roll please) … lipstick.  Wow.  Girl’s got punchlines.  She’s like Canibus on aircrafts that take off and land vertically.

....then came the line of the night!

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer - except that you have actual responsibilities.”

Oh.  SHIT.  Did she just say that?  I was visiting my mommy, posted in her living room, trying to spend some quality time eating Cheez-Its, and Palin came with THAT.  Wow.  The crowd went nuts, as they often do in battles, even when it’s f***ed up.  I threw my box at the TV like “She’s sick!!”

But then the dust settled, and I had a few seconds to reflect on why that was F-star-star-star-ed up.  Translated into English from the Republican language of not-so-subtle-shit-talking, Palin and every body else was basically saying “M#((erF$*!$ like Dr. King and Ghandi and Mother Theresa and every one else that has ever tried to make a difference in the world—and have actually succeeded—did nothing.”

Wow.  She’s a beast on the mic.  She’s like a pitbull.  With lipstick.

fuck your first bullshit!!!
but on a serious note, you really can't just blame republicans for this shit. Unfortunately thats polotics in america today. Both sides do it, and the entire process of running for president becomes less and less relevant to the issues every 4 years. Hopefully the best candidate will win and change that.
I encourage everybody to go out and vote. If you like obama, mccain, or even ross perot, go out and vote for your candidate.

Yo,
I think McCain picked Palin for all the wrong reasons. I think it was a strategic move, to try and pull Hillary supporters away from Obama, but we have to all ask ourselves if something happens to McCain is Palin a good choice for President? That is what McCain should have been asking himself, and if he did he would never have made that choice. Also her personal stuff is gonna be a detriment to the G.O.P. I'm democrat, voting for Obama (really voting not just talking). PEACE Come check out The Livin' Large Morning Show w/ Bobby Livin', and Tony Large Sundays 11am-1pm EST at www.clubmegamix.com. Lmao. Are you smoking crack?
Was the comparison not clear enough?

And Education Reform. What the fuck did they say? "We believe in what the kids learn instead of liberal propaganda that puts the needs of the teachers first."

They're on PCP to have to balls to say that. Teachers as a whole don't make shit, especially for what they do, budgets keep getting cut form education but get inflated on state budgets for other things like ... not educating our children which means ... our state faces a threat when we're not raising informed citizens who are capable of deducing and VOTING on issues.

And they said nothing about their PLANS for education reform.

PLUS. Those muh'fugga's were talking about change, like they're presenting the ticket for change ... like they weren't running shit for the past 8 years?

And all this about a do nothing senate, it's only been democrat for 2 years. Which means the other 6 years nothing was getting done ... kn'amsaying.

I'm sorry but music can take a back burner on effing ... who ... is going to be ... the president ... of our country ... for the next 4 years.
No offense.
But.

Lies told at the Republican Convention....

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.

Some examples:

PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.

THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.

MCCAIN: "She's the commander of the Alaska National Guard. ... She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.

THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.

FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States."

THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.

FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: "We need change, all right — change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington — throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin."

THE FACTS: A Back-to-the-Future moment. George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.

Yeah! Obama 08. Obama's charismatic and on rise during his country's economic decline. He caters to the emotion of young people incredibly well too. I mean save logic for the few, right? He has all the right media propaganda (95% of our media being controlled by liberals helps him a lot). Obama has his own little symbol, wrote a book about his world views, and some people actually think he's a Messiah (seriously, I'm not kidding). He was involved with a seperatist movement for 20 years(called Black Liberation Theology), and speaks of CHANGE but doesn't clarify it (unless it's through more government control).

Wow! It's funny how history can repeat itself and sometimes people are too naive to realize it. I can think back in history about a leader once who was so much similar before he was in a position of power. He too gave extremely charismatic speeches and motivated the people emotionally for dramatic change. He too had the right media propaganda and the people loved him. The people wanted dramatic change and that's what he constantly spoke about but just like Obama he never explained exactly what he meant or how he'd make the changes. This leader also was involved with a seperatist movement in his past and his country was going through a depression. He also wrote a book about his world views and also had his own "little symbol". On top of that, people thought he was a Messiah too. I guess Adolf Hitler did make a lot of changes.

Alot of people are wondering why McCain would pick this nobody governor anyway. The hillary voter arguement is tired, seeing as though there are other female governors in other states.

Think DS think. She's governor of Alaska. Alaska = oil.

There's a bigger problem in the voting system.

Ignorance.

How many people on this website support McCain? Okay. Now using elimination, how many people support Obama?

Alright, now how many people know about what Obama and McCain are trying to do to this country? (ie. changes they're bringing) How many people even watched the Democratic and Republican Party Conventions?

I bet you if Obama didn't appear black, then many blacks would NOT vote for him. I'm not trying to hate or anything, because how am I suppose to hate on the candidate I support? But forreal when's the last time you looked up the differences between the two campaigns. Fuck being the first black president, I want a GOOD president. Ignore the color, read before you make choices.

What if Obama wins, but he only won because he got many black votes? Then, he fucks up the country. You know who fucked up? Not him, we did. The fucking voters who amended the delegates' decisions. There's a time to listen to hip-hop artists talking their 'ish about voting for Obama for "change," and there's a time to READ (yeah I said it) about the change.

Yeah and when you wanna talk about politics, don't just copy and paste shit you got from the Associated Press (Lyricalthought, no offense). Because the statements you posted actually aren't all lies. They just over exaggerated some shit to move the people. But this is politics, you have to attack somehow to win. I don't think I have EVER read any posters talk about actual politics and debate-points on this website (correct me if I'm wrong).

Don't vote for Obama because "he's black, I'm black, why not?!" Don't try to front either because that's probably the first thing people think when they think about Obama, I'm no exceptions. Vote for him because you made an educated decision, not on that ignorant shit.

I support Obama, but not for the wrong reasons. A lot of people can make good speeches, so don't depend on that. You wouldn't vote for Hitler would you?

What are you talking about, "blowing up the world?" wtf. If you're talking about the war in the middle-east, it's a war against terrorism. Remember what happened during 9/11, yeah that terrorism. The one that killed 3000 innocent civilians.

I just thought it was funny how they categorically stated things, and rephrased comments so when I read that article that I posted I thought it would be a good way to get the topic moving....

Yeah, props man. What a lot of people don't realize, including me until I watched McCain's speech, which was almost as good as Obama's, is that McCain is a really good candidate too. They both are, and McCain might be actually better than Obama, but I'm for Obama because McCain dropped the ball when he picked Palin, who is a heartbeat away from fucking up this country. Now don't get me wrong, McCain has a lot of flaws that I don't like, but he basically denounced his party as Republicans and doesn't get along with Bush very well. He has begun branching off from Bush and making smart decisions. People need to do their research. But yeah, Obama talks about changes, but the money needed for this might put us back a few steps. Also he is inexperienced. Don't get it twisted though, I'm voting for Obama as of now, but really do your research before you vote for Obama just because he is black. Educate your mind.

That is what really pisses me off, because I don't know many white people that are voting for McCain, out of like the 300 I know, maybe like 20. That is pretty fucking beat of anyone to say that, and of course I'm not targeting blacks, just people who said that, and if this doesn't concern you, don't worry about it.

Well, the war was originally against terrorism when it began, the criticism is within what it's become. I'm just trying to make a point against the guy who said McCain just wanted to blow up the world...

Unless you agree that he does, then that's a new argument.

go & cop "Audacity of Hope" by Obama. Then you'll see why as a white dude I'm voting for him. He's not about stance on the issues as much as collaboration on the values & needs of the American people. Just like he said in his speech @ the DNC, "we might not have the same stance on abortion, but we can all agree that we'd like to reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies." That's not a race thing at all.

The republican notion of capitalism creating jobs and letting it trickle down to the poor is fucken outdated and obsurd.Ppl in the hoods all across america plus rural backwood poverty need govt aid that the republicans continue to ignore.Shit Im from one of the poorest states on the map and see that shit happen first hand. And yes I am voting for obama cause hes black its way long over due that we get an equal chance to choose a minority in office, the fact that it took this long is fucken disgusting and ppl need to stop being biggots when it comes to other cultures. That shit is also obsolete wake the fuck up ppl

I feel two different ways about this comment.

I commend you for being proud of who your voting for,
But Im leery at your reasoning.

Being a democrat means nothing, just because their democrats dosent mean they will do whats right for the country or whats right for us.

Remember it was a Republican that came up with Public assistance, it was the republicans who abolished slavery, it was the republicans who fixed the economy after world war I.

Dont vote for somebody for race or for political party, Vote for them because you agree with their goals and views for America.

For Example, Im voting for Obama because he has touched and said he will focus on the issues that affect me such as..

College tuition
The Economy
Social Security
Health Insurance-Which I dont have
Gas Prices (New Energy Plan Moving away from Feul)
the perception of America around the world
Moving away from the massive tax breaks that people making 250,000 or more receive and giving those tax breaks to the lower bracket salaries

Those are some of the things that he plans to focus on, and those are the that effect me.

Meanwhile from what I've heard and seen, McCain wants Offshore Drilling (although Obama did agree with that smh)

Does not want to improve the wages for teachers

Wants to Cut the amount of financial Aid College students can receive

Beleives that if you give the richer people the biggest tax breaks it will have a trickle down effect (Thats been the plan for 8 years and clearly it hasnt worked smh)

Wants to send more people to Iraq

Does not Support Aboriton (Im Pro Choice)

Does not support gay marriage (Let God Judge them we have no right)

And is known to Sleep with Lobbyist, and make backdoor deals that will help him while hurting the country.

Why don't you guys look up the sex scandal he had with the communications Lobbyist

I can't believe what I'm reading. alot of you guys on here are older than me and yet it's so sad to see you state some of the most ignorant statements like "i'm voting for him because i'm black." COME ON

yes is a wonderful thing that a minority could possibly become president, but if he's gonna mess everything up for us, i'm not voting for him. AND YES I'M BLACK. I would vote for a white guy who is a good candidate before a vote for a black who is a horrible candidate ANYDAY IN A HEARTBEAT.

do you realize how important the president's job is? are you really ignorant enough to put someone in that position JUST because he's a minority? so if he's a crackhead but he's black we shoud vote him in. PEOPLE PLEASE THINK, YOU'RE MAKING MINORITIES AND HIP HOP HEADS LOOK BAD, YOU PROVING THE STEREOTYPES CORRECT!!!

by the way, i'm voting for Obama.

^^^ that's some real shit......republicans policies are basically leaning towards the mid to higher class people because they can afford to go by most of his policies and laws while the families that are struggling will contiue to struggle and drop even lower in society. Basically McCain is george bush's clone but with another last name. What makes me mad is, BLACK ppl are always bitching about who is in office, and how republicans keep winning but if you don't get your asses out and vote, it will happen again and again. When you vote you are putting your voice out there and your vote can make a difference even though the electoral college's shit is the main jump-off but your one vote can help that candidate win your state but you have to make an effort and get your ass out of bed and go to the voting booth(s).

I'm voting for Obama because he is black, the same way white people voting for Mccain because he is white..The conservatives didn't want him, but they sure is hell don't want Obama. Why do you think John Mccain chose Palin in the 1st place? She is pro-life, pro-guns everything John Mccain isn't(he's switched his votes a bunch of times)..Mccain is rallying his base and his base happens to be white people..Did you see the convention...14,999 white people, 3 Asian cooks, 2 black janitors and a disabled ethiopian kid..Real representative of America right? We have been voting for white people our whole lives, some can't even break the cycle and will vote for Mccain..

To my Hispanic brothers, it's so sad that you guys always sympathize with us, say your "one of us" and all that ish...Drop the N-word, listen to our music, jock our slang, but soon as someone mentions that hispanics have african blood your heads spin around in disgust. Sad Obama won't win the hispanic vote, but then again you guys are "one of us"..

Sarah Palin is an idiot..Her daughter is a hoe and the only reason I call her a hoe is because if that was Michelle Obama's daughter we would've heard about how "unwed black mothers giving birth in this country is an epidemic" But when white folks do it "it's a tragedy and oh don't worry their going to get married" Get the fuck outta here. SOrta like Malcom X was "revolting" but what ya'll did in 1776 was a "revolution"...I can't believe we will elect trash but the black family has to be the god-damn huxtibles and still people have doubts...Ya'll ain't hearin me this afternoon.

Cindy Mccain is a pill-popping junkie. When someone in her non-profit organization outed her to her husband, press and authorities they were fired..She doesn't even acknowledge that she has siblings for christ sake! but has a couple of half-brothers and sisters...

And so what John Mccain was a P.O.W., I respect his service, but you "chose" to sign up and you knew the risks, so you shouldn't get special treatment.

As someone who's worked for Republicans and Democrats, there are evils in both. But the republicans are hypocrites. I used to kick it with a representatives son and that boy was out of his fucking mind. Pills, Alcohol, weed, coke, all in one night?! Damn nigga space it out or something..Then not to mention the mom was a complete whore and one the kids wasn't his and he didn't even know..I'm done fuck MCcain, Palin and all those who are not voting for Obama..You ain't making 250,000k a year and voting republican?? kill yourself!

unemployment at a 5 year high 6.1 percent!!

Clearly you need to read what rscrbc has read. Oh and stop saying white people are gonna vote for McCain, because you REALLY don't know what you're talking about. My entire family is white and they are all voting for Obama. Same with mostly all of my friends. Not everything is about race. Educate your mind.

1st of all race matters and the only people who don't think so is white people..Black and brown people have been over the race issue since the beginning of time. Remember you guys wrote this thing called the declaration of independence which states "all men are created equal" man that was the 1700's and it still took 250 years, a civil war and you guys still don't get it!!! lmbao

Discrimination is one of the key components into why their is a recession today..The Housing Market.

A black man with a college degree has the same chances as a white man with a felony. And we are getting our asses kicked on the technology front..All men are not created equal and the education system proves that daily. The republicans try kicking knowledge with that bullshit "charter" school non-sense..Instead of paying money for busing, so a kid in lower income area can go to a better school, how about you just use that funding to fix the school in his area!!!!!!!! Nope but that's too fucking easy! The whole point is that b/s manifesto "all men are created equal" is not true. Your people preach, practice and live it everyday.

Malcom X was once asked by a white female on the steps of Harvard University

"what can I do to further your cause"

Malcom replied "nothing"

I respect you and your family for its decency, but you are one white family out of millions who don't see Barack as equal. Sad but true. And the white people who do see him as equal ask the question "why can't all blacks be like him" as if being black is some type of lifestyle..Either way race matters always. Barack shouldn't have the burden of being called "post-racial"..Lol all those white politicians that black people have voted been called "post-racial"??? I think not..Even when you don't mean too, you still do and always remember the "people with the best intentions, commit the worst atrocities". Racism is one of them.

White people talking to black people about race should understand you got to let that black person get the 1st 100 blows! You have any idea what its like not to be able to trace your roots? Have no clear knowledge where your from? I guess your irish or german? Me I don't know! I couldn't tell ya. I put my last name in one of those "trace your roots" search engines and all that came up was a bunch of English cats. I guess those were my ancestors slave-holders.

Understand that wherever your people have showed up death, disease and despair has followed for brown and black people. Understand that I and other blacks today do not blame you directly, but we want you to understand things are not equal and probably never will be. We are a people with "30-day tags" because this is not our permanent residence. We are lost in the wilderness known as America. Brought here unwillingly.

While most blacks today don't have grand-parents who were slaves, they were most likely share-croppers which was "slavery", still under Jim Crow laws. Don't get me wrong, there were black hotels, nightclubs, businesses owned and operated by blacks all through the 1920's, 30's,40's,50's and 60's but when desegregation happened, we suddenly, over night had to play by "your" rules. Building permits, zoning codes, fire hazards. Get where i'm going with this..Boarded up buildings in every city in America that has been standing since the 60's most likely at one point was a happening night-spot black owned..Due to ill preparation post segregation that went to shit quick.

MLK gave his speech on August 28th, 1963. Not even a month later on Sept. 15th 1963, 4 little beautiful black girls were killed in a bombing..

MLK said " I feel like I'm integrating my people into a burning building"

Well Mr. King there's an inferno.

actually u didnt really answer my question, tho u did make excellent points, i was just saying that a barack could be like the black george bush and you woudlve voted for him cause hes black? also i was saying that it was inaccurate the way you were saying all white people are voting for mccain... and yes, i know exactly what its like to not be able to trace your roots, my grandma's entire family was killed in the holocaust, her escaping, she had to watch as the nazis rounded everyone up into a movie theater and burned it to the ground, so my people know a little bit about what its like to have death as their story, but no i will never know what its like to be black, and you will never know what its like to jewish, its much harder than it seems, and im not comparing the two in any way... so just please understand that black people arent the only ones that have problems

I love my country, but this war is bullshit..White people need to realize not everybody wants their Mcdonald garbarge littering their high-ways..Imagine a bunch of foreign tanks and armed serviced men walking through your neighborhood and you decide to stand up and fight?! Sounds like a mother fucking Patriot to me!!But then again we're white and everything we do is right, even when we're wrong! So listen to us, become a western society and adopt our religion, politics, disease and corruption. Look at Spain..They don't even recognize their latino brothers outside of the country..Some of the most racist sons of bitches on the planet. That's because they are completely white-washed and as European as one can get.

I don't mean to disrespect the wonderful people of the service. Disproportionately minorities, but man sometimes that shit ain't our place. Yeh some of these politicians have family members in the service but I guarantee it's not in combat!!! How man politicians son's die out of 4500 or so?? Anyone?? My point exactly..They sit back and collect all the fucking money why we doing all the dirty work...I hope China or North Korea puts a motherfuckin dent in America sometimes so we can become England and realize you can't just set up your ideals and influence anywhere you please..England got a wake up call in India, ever since they have fallen back..We need to get G-Checked quick!

hey rscrbc yeah sept11 was a very tragic thing that happened and the people that were responsible needs to be punished, but thres was no reaon for to bush attack Iraq. Iraq didnt blow up the towers. In result of the war 140,000 iraqi civilians died. (not terrorists or iraqi soldiers)
but 140,000 civilians. so compare 140,000 killed in iraq
100s of thousands of innocent people killed in afghanistan
to 3,000 killed in sept11. 240,000 to 3,000. i think the real terrorits are people like mccain and bush wage war on anyone does not agree with them, and use the media like fox news or cnn to make(propoganda) lies about the middle east.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you actually read it, you wouldn't have made your comment...And like I said the only group of people who think race doesn't matter is White people..It's easy when your in a position of power to say that..Play the race card?? Lol I'm not applying for no job, nor did I get denied..I just spoke the truth..That's the biggest problem with white males..Your inability to listen, process and accept. And like I said no black person today blames the whites today for anything in the past. Just understand you benefit from being white. The statistics prove that theory. God Bless

That's the biggest problem with white males..Your inability to listen, process and accept.

there you go right there stereotyping and entire race/gender in one sentence my dude. i'll even go as far as to agree with you, white people do benefit from the imbalance of economic and social power that has only been reconciled a few short decades ago. but you say how you dont blame white people in particular, but just the race as a whole for atrocities commited in the past? is that not racism? thats like me saying well i dont blame frank lucas for selling heroin on new york city streets, but i blame black people in general for benefitting from some of the positive things he gave back to the community.

and if you want to really get technical, i'm italian which is, whether you like to hear it or not, a minority ethnic group in this country. i also cant trace my family roots because of the rocky history of italy's origin. do i care? no. do i blame the black tribes or white armies that invaded italy before it was a united country? no. im informed but i dont care, because i dont base my outlook on the people i share this world with on the fucked up racial relations of the past. it matters as much as you make it matter.

@at (lyrical thought) ive read your response and agree with your logical reasoning behind choosing who to vote 4.The republicans you mentioned should be commended for thier contributions to our society, but on the other hand that was a very long time ago.Now there isnt much I know when it comes to politics. In this short lifetime of mine Ive come to realize that Imma product of Reganomics. Now most ppl think that thats a good thing in general but Regans time in office is parallel to the time crack was introduced to every hood in america.Thats an entirely new discussion on its own. Then in came Bush senior and his term in office was parrallel to the countries first recession inna very long time.Up next would be Bill Clinton who created 5,000,000 new jobs in office which created a booming economy. Now last and the very least which I am sad to say we go
