Welp folks, here we are...We said changes will come and some--many have arrived. If you've been with us since the beginning, which I know many of you have, thank you, you helped us become the fastest growing online hip hop magazine ever. Even though we're still not number 1, we'll get there soon enough.
Big shout out to our older brother Datpiff.com--the amount of help and effort they've provided has been unimaginable.
Anyways, enough of the thanks yous..lets get into some cool new shit.
Changes In Place
General
First and foremost, we have cleaned up the look of the site and made it incredible easier to navigate, we've also brought out videos to the main page and gotten rid of some unnecessary things. If you're looking for Rumors, they're still on the right..just a bit lower..as well as the Artist Spotlight. We've placed a new widget on the right for Media and Mixtapes...that's just beta version of it, so let us know how we can improve.
Next , Article Features:
The tabs atop articles are your key to exploring your topic of interest. Reading a story about Jay Z?..Want to hear what new tracks he has out?.Click Listen, it'll pull up the latest singles added to Defsound, Want to watch a video instead?..Click Watch and it'll bring up the latest videos by the artist(s) in the article.
Next up, Comments:
We know you all love to share your opinions as well as go back and forth with none sense amongst one another so we've implemented a new feature for the comments.
Props +
Props will basically go to good, helpful, insightful comments. Someone posts something you didn't know?..You give them props which will add points to that comment..comments with the most props stand out.
Trash-
Trashing a comment is basically exactly what it sounds like. Someone posts "First!" in every article?..Trash it...it'll minimize and fade out and will only be viewable to the user by choice..meaning, you have to click view to see the comment.
Video & Singles Players
The video player and singles players have changed--for the better I hope. Pretty soon we'll start offering embed codes so that you can add new vids or new singles to your myspace, forum, website, etc. So stay on the look out for that.
Changes To Come In the coming Days
User Profiles
We will be rolling out full user profiles soon, Defsounds members will be able to create and customize their profiles (kinda like myspace but way less shitty) and stay in touch with those they love to argue with on articles.
User Ratings
We've been promising this for a while, but we wanted to do it right. DS members will be able to rate pretty much everything on the site, News, Singles, Rumors, Videos,--everything.
New Album Review System
Another major addition to Defsounds, the new review system. We know we can't keep up with all the albums that come out so why not let you guys submit your own reviews?...Defsounds members will have the option to submit minimal reviews and rate any album..the info gathered will be displayed right next to the official DS review.
Welp, that's it for now...there are a whole lot of other little things being added here and there but those are the major ones. Once again, thank you all.

All I can say is it's beautiful! Classic! DefSounds is the number one hip hop website. No one is touching Defsounds! Great changes, and its a movement!!
