1. Score 1-3: don’t bother getting the mixtape.
2. Score 4-7: it’s average, worth listening to if you’re a fan of the DJ or artist.
3. Score 8-10: definitely worth a spin. Dope class.
Tha Drought is Ova 2(Tha Carter 3 Sessions)
Tha Carter Sessions 3 is probably Lil Waynes 85th mixtape in the past week, but it is undoubtedly better than the first 84, as some of the tracks get your head nodding. Split between freestyles/songs and tracks rumored to be on Tha Carter 3 it gives every Wayne fan just the fix they need. Starting off with the Kanye West produced “Did it Before”, where Wayne literally says those 3 words for about 4 minutes, West manages to make a beat that actually lets you not mind it very much. Other songs like “Something You Forgot” show Wayne at his best in months, actually staying on topic throughout the entire song. I’m pleasantly surprised. However… other songs, like “Diamonds and Girls”, and “I Feel Like Dying” Waynes almost blatant admission to being on drugs, made me feel like dying myself. With ups and downs like these, This mixtape isn’t necessarily for everybody, but it honestly isn’t his worst offering.
6/10
The Hustla’s Home
The Hustler is Home, and he’s back to claim his rightful title on top of the hill. Cassidy wastes no time, immediately getting into his vicious freestyle “Get Retarded” with acid-laced lines like: “I aint a drug dealer, druge dealers work for ME.” “Me 2” is a funny remake of the Clipse’s”Mr. Me Too”, with Cass mocking all those liars pretending they can do what he does. “The Anthem” (remix) is hot fiyah, but the mixtape really shines on the Busta Rhymes and Papoose assisted cut “Psycho”. I haven’t heard Bussa Bus rhyme this well since 2002! Seems when you’re workin with Cass, you step your game up. “Come and Get it” feat. Swizz Beatz is classic Full Suface material, as Swizz blends in well with the track, and Cass rips yet another beat. The Hustlers Home is really only offset by some older content on it, like the track with Game “Aim for the Head”, but it is a solid return mixtape at the very least.
7.5/10
Da Exam
Lupe Fiasco’s Da Exam is a well rounded compilation tape filled with old favorites, and a few tracks some may have never heard before. Fortunately enough for Lupe, this doesn’t take away from the overall experience, as every track is dope in its own right. Starting off with the mixtape classic “Jedi Mind Tricks”, he solidifies his place as one of Hip-Hops premier artists. With deft lines like “They tryna censor the influence-a makes me sicker, influenza”, it’s definitely a run-back. “And He gets the girl” is a cool rendition of N.E.R.D’s “Maybe”, with Lupe doing his geeky best, spitting game to a girl. What shines is the authenticity of the conversation here, as Lupe holds nothing back from his own personality. “Spray paint and Inkpens” feat. Mike Shinoda and Ghostface Killah is one of his greatest songs, with all three emcees dropping fantastic story-verses. Other tracks like “Marty McFly” showcase Lupes sickeningly off-centre flow, and wit. If intelligent lyricism laced with humor is your thing, this is a definite pick-up.

niggas love to hate wayne
YOU CAN HATE ALL YOU WANT!
Wayne mixtape better then the otha 2
Yall be on here talking bout Wayne on that and smokin this, well it's very clear that whoever rates mixtapes don't have ears or they with Wayne when he smoking that La, La La La La La La, La La Laahhhh...But I keep forgetting this is a comment driven site so by dropping Wayne's rating it's guaranteed that there will be WTF comments, so that's my bad i forgot that's tha bull yall be doing to get lame comments from people, I mean do we remember Da Drought 3 bullsh** rating, yea like 120 comments...crazyness
Or maybe the mixtape was just wack, moron. Comment-driven site. You must have learned business planning from a speak & spell. If you noticed, the last one got a 5. This one actually got a respectable 6.
I know you're on Weezy's dick and all, but DAMN, son. DAMN.
And I love how there's nothin but sarcasm and obvious hating being thrown Wayne's way, talking bout this being like his 84th mixtape; how dumb are you because it's not his fault djs keep making mixtapes, but its obvious that this was a bullsh** rating because how is it Wayne's tha only one that had negative comments...Here let me try some of that sarcasm tat was being used, Wayne is just wacker than tha other 2 so that's why we said his mixtape was mediocre...
Right and you've listened to it, right, and like I said I like Cass and Lupe but they ain't tha truth. And a respectable 6, get tha hell outta here, Everybody on this planet know Wayne is killing tha rap industry right now as a whole except for tha lames that type illegitimate comments on this site, but that's because this site has a lot of old hip-hop heads, and people who like to jump on tha weezy ain't hot bandwagn because someone else said it. Go to another site where they talking about a Wayne mixtape, or Wayne, I guarantee you you won't find comments like on here...And as much as people talk about Wayne for kissing baby people show in tha hell are real quick to talk about being on his d**k, and it's funny tha only reason they have is because you're supporting dude, so technically to not be on someones d**k is to be a hater, or at least that seems like tha only criteria that solidifies that...
Wow @ you actually attempting to defend him lip locking with another man. On top of that, he's trash dude. He's "killing the industry" alright. Literally killing it.
I guess it's just a conspiracy that Wayne is on 4 outta 5 spots for best seller at (mixtrap.com) I guess yall know something they don't...LMAO!!! Keep hatin, it jus means he's still that dude...
Or it just means people like you are stupid enough to ignore true talent, and nut-ride the mediocre.
Oh, and theres nothing "metaphorical" or poetic about Lil Wayne blatantly saying "I am trapped being Xanax bars". The dude is on drugs.
food n liqour proved the kid s talented, he has everything to put hip hop to higher level, fuck them so called gangstarappers. And all these weezygroupies cryin for higher scores.. a 6 aint that bad (Score 4-7: it’s average, worth listening to if you’re a fan of the DJ or artist.). Its just a good review PERIOD
I heard and have all three mixtapes, cassidy's mixtape is straight fire, cassidy would kill wayne, he would destroy him!!!!!! wayne s mixtape is the same shit with new names, if ur a wayne fan his new songs are allrite but like typically wayne doesnt stay on point and it s just dissapointing, if this is what his album is like i aint impressed he needs to stop with all this mixtape mayhem oh well look out for the waynes new mixtape " the DEdication 3" lmao , and my main man LUPE FIASCO the future of HIP HOP, most of the songs i already heard but a great mix of good songs and freestyles, cant wait for his new album, cant wait for that CRS album, decent mixtapes, peace
out bitches
- The Infamous Larry Fresh
that Cassidy shit is fucking bonkers....The shit is on fucking crack for real...Wayne aint close to being on the level of Cassidy..
We all know Wayne isn't a hardcore battle rapper, but it don't matter because he a hardcore rapper, all of your complaints are like broken records it's all tha same stuff from everyone who speak against him...He spit what he want when he want and how he want because it's nothing to him. It ain't no arithmetic or science to him, it's candy land to him, so he just grab a track and spit to it because he loves to do that and tha masses love it; well except for tha people that know real talent (sarcasm) they don't really like him doing that...bottom line is if yall dudes ain't feeling "Dying" there's no speaking to you, it's poetically spoken, poetically delivered, and he gave people something they've never heard before and dropped too many metaphors for lame hating a** people to understand because all they see is hate...Go to school and look up poetry and see how dumb you sound not saying he gave us a poem on wax, and real rap ain't nothin but poetry anyway, but he delivered it in tha real poetic scheme...get your knowledge up please, "if hating was a crime they'd arrest yall ni**as" -Jeezy
Cassidy mixtape was da best outta da 2, he shoulda got more than a 7.5
iF MAKIN BAD MUSIC WAS A CRIME THE WHOLE INDUSTRY WOULD BE LOCKED UP LOL, LOOK OUT FOR THE MIDWEST TO BRING IT BACK 2 LIFE THO
Yea them Cass and Lupe mixtapes are straight bananas.
Lupe Fiasco is the best young rapper in the GAME.
I dare anyone to try to compare Wayne and Lupe. Or even Wayne and Cass. There just too much for him. Wayne was okay. But it seem soon as Gillie the Kid "left" his bars have become erratic, they joint around from topic to topic with the same formula: Punchlines that don't compliment each other with a nasty flow and delivery. Listen with your ears not you vaginas you dick riders.
Peace! shout out to Eviscerate he actually listens to what he hears...
joint=jump my bad.
Eviscerate and King T~ I'm with yall...yeah...definitely with yall!
Larry Fresh...thanx for keeping it 100!
Thacahhter....well what can I say? I respect the fact that you definitely support ya favorite artist...REGARDLESS...of EVERYTHING unrespectable that he's done in the past.
All in all.... Good Posts!
~Be Eazy!
Look at it this way, the rap that you percieve as good is solely based on your comprehension and intelligence. When i listen to rappers like Lil Wayne all i can think of is "Those punchlines are generic, i could come up with this, I don't even have a thought in the world about rapping and i could think of "poetic rhetoric" better than this" so in my opinion the reason some people don't like Lil Wayne is because his "punch lines" are too simplistic. On the other hand rappers like Lupe Fiasco who don't use a "punch line" when instead he uses a "punch song" because if you pay attention, every line has meaning and relevance. lupe could go song for song with any rapper and come out on top if it was strictly lyrics, but of course hip hop is more dimensional than lyrics, it has other factors, that unfortunatley sometimes people buy into it and confuse it with lyrical skills ex: Delivery, Voice, Beats.....
no one is hatin on lil wayne, thats his opinion...
cassidys mixtape shouldve been a 8...lil waynes mixtape shouldve been a 7.5 and i dont even like lil wayne like that...but everything he says is right...
wayne shit was tight and if one more person say dyin was weak, that shit was fy what are yall hearin
Weezy shit should have got a 9.5
mook what are you hearing?? wayne def need to take a break... he trynna do things he shudn't/cant do
@cahhter?? nig i hope ur last name is cahhter forreal becuz he on someone's dick like a moonbounce kid
drought 3 was poor compared to what wayne WAS doing, he got very very sloppy on that and ppl (younger more gullible generation) fell for the corny punchlines on candy beatz scenario
i jus kno dudez aint bout nothin in life from what yal hav as picz and wut yal type... wayne is not poppin in da real streetz like dat & its been like dat for a minute. real niggaz see thru him.
i admit he was goin for awhile but now erything he do hurt himself and thas part of da reason y he stopped progress on his album and went back to mixtapes...
he has a nice lil style he borrowed/picked up (not even speakin about gillie) but he lacks content and real lyricism (PUNCHLINES IS NOT LYRICISM)
thanx u .
All I can say for now is just wait till tha Carter 3 come out and then you will see that him being erratic, or never staying on topic, or just spitting just to spit isn't tha only thing he can do, it's tha summer and he's raping beats and whole tracks cuz that's what he do in tha summer, but when tha Carter 3 drop it'll be a little more focused based, not to say he ain't gon have just some burners like "Birdman Jr", "Tha "Mobb", and "Best Rapper Alive" type tracks where he just rape tha track, but it is what it is, and please understand that because someone speaks in respect for someone don't make them their favorite, it's just respect, and it's not always about these deep a** intellectual lyrics to every fan of music, to a lot of northern and eastern cats I feel ya, that's where yall from I've lived in my fair share of plenty areas do to tha army but I rep tha south heavy and down south it's just different. There are deep artist such as Scarface, and Outkast, and others but there are many who just spit and there's no need to explain because it's a preference when it comes to me stating my opinion on certain things not a right or wrong thing...
dude is versitile he can rap anyway listen to hollywood divorce with outkast and snoop
And I'm a start
Yea, and I don't have to go to Hollywood
'Cause Hollywood come through my neighborhood with cameras on
I really think they're stealin from us like a sample song
I really wish one day we'd take it back like Hammer's home
The hurricane come and took my Louisiana home
And all I got in return was a darn country song
This whole country wrong
What would you write if you just put a little ice on
And cut your mic on
But you don't even write songs
But Hollywood make you spit like a python
I meant Cobra, I'm so not sober
I'm high like a Hollywood coffee or soda
You can call me a roller
Your grill's glistenin'
Spent a hundred thousand on mine to feel different
What's the real sense of it?
Bling bling, I know
And did you know I'm the creator of the term
I just straightened the perm
Aint let it sit too long, they just makin it burn
And make a movie of our lifestyle
But they earn like a dead body burned on a mantlepiece
That's why I try not to lie on wax like this candle grease
And I be's the little nigga
Cooler than anti-freeze defrost on your window pane - Lil Wayne
But in Hollywood it's Litt-le Wayne
Don't make me nut
So that's why I got a pre-nup
I do
nigga please!
ok people always talkin bout how weezy's mixtape will have alot of the same songs
but this lupe mixtape have some old songs dont people bitch
Good article, Paira.
wats wit everyone bitchin bout da score wayne got?...so wat? jus stfu and go bak 2 suckin waynes dick...da cassidy junt was hot...i still gota get da lupe junt
Somebody gimme a good Wayne Verse I promise I'll bust yo ass with a Lupe Verse
I PROMISE!
I luv all the rapperz and singerz out riht now they all doing their thing.
Wayne is getting lamer..lamer. Cassidy shit is alright, could of been beter. Has the best verse's of all the mixes. Lupe's flow is missing something, I dont feel is if he is a complete artist at this point. But he is better than most.
evrybody kno cassidy been doin da damn thang frm day 1, lupe is lyrical talent n wayne str8 too but he jus need ta go bak ta his old carter 1 flow. niggas wuznt slanderin da man wen he made all dat sqad shit n young money mixtapes. he jus doin da same thang in a different way but i think he need ta go bak ta his carter 1 flow he aalready made a name for his self in the rap game whether ppl like it or not
Because that's when Gillie was the lead man with the Pen. The niggas he got writing now are awful.
Lil wayne is recycled garbage...same mixtape everyday its wack. But Lupe is WAY better
I DONT EVEN LIKE WAYNE LIKE THAT BUT HE'LL KILL LUPE HANDS FEET FACE AND BELLY DOWN. LUPE IS NOT 50 TOP RAPPERS IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW. LIVIN ONLY
CASSIDY WOULD MAKE LUPE LOOK LIKE A FUCKIN HALL MONITOR
I hate haters. Didn't dude say that it seems that Wayne says the same thing on every mixtape when he rated tha drought 3.
In my opinion if these were the songs on the Carter 3 then it would've been an instant claassic. I know that tracks that didn't leak and the new tracks he add are still gonna be fire because he on somethin different for this one. I really didn't get the feel of it when one of my homeboys kept pressuring me to listen to it. But when I listened to it on my own terms I feelin every track on that jaunt 4 tha most part.
Oh man, I'm sorry, Wayne is... wack.
He's corny and his vocal style is mad annoying. All he does is say "I'm like this. I'm like that. I'm like the other."
I think it shows lack of talent. He has some good songs, but most suck. B.G. and Gillie are better. Juvenile sucks tho. He's just boring.
lupes tape is gunna be dope! with mike from likin park and ghostface featuring on it
can't wait!
Check the Name
Its First and Fifteen
All 3 straight though
Wayne the best rapper out.
Get it right.
funny how this same website called "Dedication 2" the BEST mixtape ever, but always seem to hate on Wayne at any opportunity it can..... speculation
lol. I'm wit Cass (gotta support tha hometown hero!)and Lu all the way....
I love Lupe's flow tho. He flips it a whole lot, but it's always metaphorical, analytical, and poetic...........he just breaks it DOWN....
Lupe is the truth right now nobody right now in the game is on his lyrical level his metaphorical, poetic, and intelligent verses make most rappers look retarded but Cass still hot Lil Wayne is to damn over rated period.
I ain't hatin on nobody but Wayne shit is startin to sound the same. I didn't listen to the Fiasco joint but dat Cass is the shit. I bump dat shit in the whip all day.
NEXT TIME GIVE WAYNE MORE CREDIT THAN WHAT YOUR DOIN NOW CAUSE YOU AINT DOIN NUFFIN BUT HATIN.
