Alright, People you know what it is.. I got the rest of the countdown right here, ready for the presses. I read some of y’all responses and I notice some of y’all (Just one dude) complained about the exposure of the artists that were in the first part. Thing is.. That was the first part. Here’s comes the brand new flava in ya ear.
MIMS, Rich Boy, Kia Shine, Souljah Boy, Playaz Circle, And Hurricane Chris all bursts into the since this year, as rookies in the game(That can easily get crushed by the Sophomores this year). They had the radio, clubs, television, and your female’s phone on locked. While it was all good for the one or two songs they brought to the public, it really didn’t go for much of anything. You saw more of their albums on the shelves than the YouTube clip of Cam’ron talking about the pool in the background. Now it’s a Where’s Waldo 24/7 when it comes to some of these rappers.. When was the last time you heard of MIMS, Rich Boy and Shine? But luckily for all of us they’ll be gone as soon as they came; and then we’ll have room for real Hip-Hop. Oh just a note: The highest selling rapper of these artists was Rich Boy. (I can’t even lie about this one; He shouldn’t even be included seeing how he went Gold and so as Souljah Boy but I’m just talking Ringtone rappers in general. MIMS sold 300,000+, but he just hit that number.. Sad ain’t it?)

Cham came with a good album, but the problem was that he didn’t even come close to the platinum sales that he enjoyed two years ago. And what’s even worse is that his album could be disputed as the best of 2007. Cham’s diversity in the album was a blend of personal reflection, political views, thought provoking lyrics and flow wrapped up in one and he still didn’t sale. Things like that really should make a person that loves the genre of music angry when they see an artist like Rich Boy (no disrespect but you’re not nearly on his level) goes gold and gets plenty of love shown; While someone who actually puts out a complete album from the South (And not the kind that get ridiculed) doesn’t have any plaques show for it. I know Hip-Hop isn’t about sales, but damn people.

Usually when an artist from the Unit comes out with an album, the whole world goes crazy. Well, not this time; I guess you guys were still mad at Banks. With two videos that was getting a good response from the public, along with a couple of mixtapes that were released that had an even bigger response and the giant G-Unit promoting machine pumping in the background. You would believe that Buck would get at Platinum within a few months. The Critics liked it for the most part but the people are not feeling it I guess. He debuted #3 on the Billboard 200 behind Tim McGraw and “Now that’s What I Call Music Vol. 24” moving 141,083 copies. Which is nice but he really didn’t go much from there.
2. Cassidy- B.A.R.S (Barry Adrian Reese Story)

This is number two for a couple reasons. First it’s the sales, because well.. That’s what I’m talking about. The next reason (Which is a big reason to me) is that he went through all these trails and tribulations, (being in the car accident and the charges against him all being dropped) and still found a way to not make a classic album. With some of the same themes from the second album, (Which I feel is better anyway) Cassidy have yet to create the album he should’ve made. Oh, and all of the bragging and the sneak disses to Jay, remember? He kept saying how his album was going to be bigger than Jay-Z’s and also how it was on the same scale as Kanye vs. 50 Cent. Remember? B.A.R.S started off nice debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 with about 63,000 sales. But homeboy dropped down 40 spots off the top 50.

You couldn’t even walk down the street without hearing at least one person with the words “We the best! Who? We are N*gga!” blaring from the speakers. We’ve all heard your cries the first two songs dude, chill out. With dozens of videos and a whole episode of Rap City for him, he still couldn’t put up the sales. Even with all the star power on every album he only managed to sale 251,700 copies. And that was the total sales in November. Not really sure if he jumped up 300,000 copies since then. Matter of fact, I’m not even going to talk about this album that much. I’ll let you argue and laugh at ityourself. Wee the Beeest!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA KHALED MADE #1. WE DEPRESSED. NOBODY WANTS TO LISTENNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

Haha But it's Ol Dude's Album tho..
buck the world was good yaady
You on some real shit. I FEEL LIKE CASSIDY'S ALBUM WAS HOTTER THAN AMERICAN GANGSTER. American Gangster was boring to me, that old 70's feel to it. It was aight, but definitely not better than B.A.R.S.
You should listen to Buck The World, that shit was cold, but most of the album's dialogue was the same on almost every song, about drugs and gat bustin'.
DJ Khaled had a raw album, if you into that south shit, i liked it, because all the artists on there. it's a DJ's album. the same with DJ Clue and DJ Drama. it was a hot album.
The reason i don't support Chamillionaire is cuz i don't like his voice, but that Hip Hop Police with Slick Rick was fire.
THE MAIN REASON THEY'RE FLOPPING IS CUZ THEY AREN'T ARTISTS THAT YOU WOULD NECESSARILY SPEND YOUR MONEY ON. DOWNLOADING IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM AND THE REASON FOR THESE FLOPS, BUT I DO IT ANYWAY. THE ONLY REASONS I WOULD BUY A CD ARE IF THEY'RE TRULY AN ARTIST NOT JUST A HIT MAKER, AND IF THEY FROM MY CITY. The only albums i bought last year were The Cool, Graduation and Buck the World. Imma buy that Finding Forever and Super Gangster Extraordinary Gentleman. This year it's all about NIGGER, and hopefully Detox. Saigon should be droppin' too and hopefully Papoose. Hope the Game comes out with some shit 2.
^^^^ That's cause Cassidy's album WAS hotter than American Gangster.
CASSIDY ALBUM WAS HOTTT!!! REALLY SLEPT ON!
I agree wit the list After being in jail and then almost being killed in a car wreck, you'd think he would have had a epiphany. but no he had a drank and a 2 step. then he talkin on the album like he's invincible. like he cant be touched.
I guess thats whut happens when u say "Push ur album back Hov"
it's a damn shame cham sold so little...album of the year imo
super co-sign
c'mon 1st off Khalad's album may have sucked but he's not a TOP TEN flop da dude had a couple of hit records, and even dough he should've have not played dat 1st week VS Jay-Z card:CASSIDYS ALBUM WAS HIS BEST Y'ALL NOT 2 MAKE A CLASSIC ALBUM WHUT!?!? What iz a classic album dees days ya 2 picky if it hot its hot y'all its 1 thing if it didn't sell but if it's hot it's hot and I think his album was jus as gud as Jay-Z. Chamillionaire iz still 2 gud of an artist to be at da top 5 flops of da year C'MON YA GOT DA LIST WRONG DIS SHIT IZ STUPID

Honorable Mention: Chamillionaire caught my eye this year. He proved well as a real southern lyricist. As for his record sales, I hope he can do better next time.
Illseed, I'll be putting up my list by Monday for 2007, with complete analysis; I'm gonna go hard this weekend and make sure my ordering is how I want it, but right now, I gotta go with The Big Doe Rehab for album of the year, out of albums I purchased and heard.
B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story - Cassidy
Rap-Murr-Phobia: The Fear of Real Hip-Hop - Keith Murray
Red Gone Wild - Redman
T.I. Vs. T.I.P. - T.I.
American Gangster - Jay-Z
Finding Forever - Common
Eardrum - Talib Kweli
From Nothin' to Somethin' - Fabolous
The Big Doe Rehab - Ghostface Killah
M.A.D.E. - Scarface
The Cool - Lupe Fiasco
8 Diagrams - Wu-Tang Clan
Super Gangster (Extraordinary Gentleman) - Styles P
The Solution - Beanie Sigel
The Score - The Fugees *doesn't count
The Great Adventures of Slick Rick - Slick Rick *doesn't count
Here are ALL the rap albums I BOUGHT this year, IN NO ORDER. Ordering will be done by Monday and WILL include R&B/Soul albums I bought. Like, for example, Amy Winehouse's Back To Black is damn near better than ALL these albums. Ms. Key's album was tight. But Jill Scott BROKE MY HEART and will be near the bottom, in terms of my satisfaction.
I 4got, I copped Freeway's Free @ Last, too!
no particualr order actually sorry...
i am in no shape or form eligible to place any of those albums over one another... I was FEELIN' each and every single one of those joints...
the two favorites i would have to say got more play from me then any others would be
Ghostface and Little Brother
although every other album was FIYAH! 07 was a great year and 08 should be even hotter!

Return of the Mac came out (not a bad album) kind of boring tho.

u make no fuckin sense wat do weed got to do wit music
what's up fam. You forgot about the Midwest/Central. Y'all aint even got rappers in Seattle, not dissin' you, but i'm saying when y'all gon get on the map. California the only state out there doin' somethin. Arizona aint doin shit either, but I know Seattle must have some talent up they sleeve and hopefully a different sound. But the West is old. The Game is the only new 1 representin'. Bishop Lamont, Jay Rock, ya Boy are all underground, and what happened to Guerilla Black, he not even from the West anyway.
LMMFAO!!!!
Back to the west.lol
Nobody wants to hear a bumch of non-rhyming ass niggas spit hot trash over a g-funk sample.B.E.T and MTv play New York artists because they always have.Or have you forgotten we started this shit? No one playing West Coast shit but the West Coast.Niggas got two main artists, The Game and Snoop.

Wiz, my list consists of albums I ACTUALLY BOUGHT from Target, Best Buy, Sam Goody, Circuit City or wherever, so that they counted in the SoundScan. Make sure you tell us which albums you actually BOUGHT. That's important; I hate when people say "such and such" album was hot, or this person is FIRE, but DIDN'T cop the album...
niggas sleep on that 8 ball n mjg dat shit was hard
...O, Shit..! A+..? Is he still ...? Shit, the first and last thing that I heard from A+ was that track called "Enjoy YourSelf" - it was about 10 years ago, damn..!
CO-SIGN
Playaz Circle album should of been promoted better because that album was pretty unique and different. That album wasnt all duffle bag boy songs they actually spit some quality shit.
QUICK ANALYSIS: Any album that came out in December, I'm pretty much still analyzing. Albums are NOT in order, that'll come next week. You can see type of music I like by looking at the "Hottest Tracks" in each section.
JUST MY OPINIONS!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story - Cassidy;
I REALLY liked this album. A lot of you are sayin' it's the same ol' Cass, but I NEVER heard any of his older albums: I had it for album of the year before Ghost dropped his diamond.
Hottest tracks: Intro, Where My Niggaz At?, Innocent (OF COURSE!), Leanin' On The Lord, Done 4 Me, & I Get My Paper.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rap-Murr-Phobia: The Fear of Real Hip-Hop - Keith Murray
Late in the summer, I had this joint as album of the year. This ALBUM IS THE SHIT. Keith Murray went hard! He dropped some FIRE... there were a couple corny joints but the good ones overshadow and allow you to stomach them.
Hottest Tracks: Do, Nobody Do It Better ft. Tyreese, Hustle On, & What It Is ft. Meth
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Red Gone Wild - Redman
I had this album for album of the year nearly the entire year, up until Keith dropped his gem on us. My biggest knock on the damn album is that it's too long to get corny @ the end... The last 5 or 6 tracks let me down, but
Hottest tracks: THE FIRST 10-12 tracks are straight NASTY for the most part AND the Mr. Ice Cream Man skit is hilarious. It just got kinda repetitive.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T.I. Vs. T.I.P. - T.I.
I was thoroughly impressed with T.I. on this album as I didn't really care for "King". Very good concept. Very good collabos. No, REALLY GREAT collabos in Busta, Em, AND Jay! Nelly was wack to me. Wyclef... ehhh... I personally believe Act I is the strongest and gets kinda repetitively "Southy" towards the end. GREAT SKIT in the confrontation b/t T.I. & T.I.P. Overall it's a good album worth bangin' for a month or so.
Hottest tracks: The WHOLE Act I, Touchdown ft. Eminem, Skit - Act III: the Confrontation
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
American Gangster - Jay-Z
Ehhhhh... Jay is my dude but I was pretty BORED. I was ridin' home with my boys from VA/D.C./MD about 3 weeks ago and we were pickin a cd to play and it came down to Reasonable Doubt and A.G. and they said, "What's the difference?", and put in the A.G. I felt SO VIOLATED BY THAT QUESTION. I WAS SO MAD.
Hottest tracks: Nas RIPPED Success, Fallin, No Hook, Blue Magic, Roc Boys, Party Life is "okay", and Say Hello.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finding Forever - Common
Lyrically: NASTY. Entertainment value: BORED THE FUCK OUTTA ME. It WAS a good album, but Common NEVER switches his flow. Yeah, I know he won awards, and I'm proud of him... but ... ehhhh....
Nastiest track by far: Track 3: The People. Also, Start The Show, I liked Drivin' Me Wild cause Lauren London was in the video, Southside (..back in 94 they called me Chi-town's Nas!), The Game, & U Black Maybe (I love the lil opening [you seen the way the done ya boy])
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eardrum - Talib Kweli
Lyrically: NASTY. Entertainment value: BORED THE FUCK OUTTA ME. I mean, this AND Common's album are FALLIN' asleep BORING. You gotta be able to spit hot lyrics AND have beats that keep you interested as well. Wasn't that the big knock on Nastradamus? Lyrically it was SICK. Anyhow, Eardrum WAS a good album, but Talib NEVER switches his flow.
Nastiest track by far: Track 3: Hostile Gospel. Also, BONUS TRACKS Ear drum & Go With Us.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Nothin' to Somethin' - Fabolous
I told y'all when I first bought this album that I was thoroughly impressed 'cause I thought it was gone be corny. Fab doesn't ever say anything mind blowing or "rewindable" but he does have common sense and a lil punch line or two here and there. HIS PRODUCTION IS VICIOUS, which really makes the album stomachable. For Fab, this was a GREAT EFFORT.
Hottest tracks: Intro, Hate to admit it but Diamonds ft. Jeezy, Brooklyn ft. Jay and Uncle Murda, I'm The Man beat is nasty, Jokes On You ft. Pusha, What Should I Do ft. Lil Mo, and This Is Family ft. Joe Budden.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Big Doe Rehab - Ghostface Killah
Whew! NOT MY FINAL CONCLUSION but RAP ALBUM OF THE YEAR! GHOST DID THE DAMN THING!
Hottest tracks: Barrel Brothers ft. Beanie, Yolanda's House ft. Meth & Rae (best Wu Combo, those 3!), Walk Around, White Linen Affair, Supa GFK, The Prayer(!, an acapella song), I'll Die For You, Paisley Darts ft. Meth, Rae & Cappa, Shakey Dog ft. Rae, Killa Lipstick ft. Meth, & mad love for ft. Chrisette Michele on Slow Down.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M.A.D.E. - Scarface
I'm actually STILL analyzing this album but... This IS NOT The Fix, however... but it's okay; depends on what you're into or if you're a Face fan.
Hottest tracks so far: Girl You Know, Boy Meets Girl, & Suicide Note
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Cool - Lupe Fiasco
Also still analyzing, but I'M STARTING TO LIKE IT. My knock on it may be my same knock on Red Gone Wild.... Too long to be repetitive at the end.. If you're gonna have a long album, keep it thorough all the way to the end, ala Life After Death.
Hottest tracks so far: Intro (I like it!), Go Go Gadget Flow, Hip-Hop Saved My Life, Little Weapon (INTRO IS VICIOUS!), & Go Baby
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8 Diagrams - Wu-Tang Clan
All I have to say is I need MORE Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon the Chef AND LESS U-God, RZA, GZA, Masta Killah and Inspectah Deck.
Hottest tracks: Any verses with my Wu-Big 3: Ghost, Rae, & Meth.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super Gangster (Extraordinary Gentleman) - Styles P
Still analyzing. No opinions yet, but I'm not mad @ it... YET.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Solution - Beanie Sigel
STILL ANALYZING IT. I gotta boy who ISN'T feelin' it, but I am NOT mad @ it... I actually think it's pretty hot but I'll make my final analysis by this weekend.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Score - The Fugees *doesn't count
ARGUABLY, THE GREATEST RAP ALBUM OF ALL TIME. NUFF SAID.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Great Adventures of Slick Rick - Slick Rick *doesn't count
Do I NEED 2 say anything? CLASSIC. There....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Freeway - Free At Last
HOT ALBUM! Free's voice AND flow has ALWAYS dumb annoyed me, but i stomached him this time out, primarily since there is no more beef wit' him & The Roc vs. my dude, Nas. Reanalyzing the END of the album (last 5-6 tracks).
Hottest tracks so far: This Can't Be Real, It's Over (FIRE!!), When They Remember, Take It To The Top & Spit That Shit.
did u even listen to consequence's album "dont quit your day job"
No. I never even heard of Consequence.
Dats funny, i first heard American Gangster on the way back to DC in a car wit niggas. The first few songz were mediocre but when "No Hook"s last verse got on, everyone waz blown away. It was the comeback we needed from jay.
I have to disagree with you about Finding Forever. Nastiest track was "The Game" and then "The People".
I can agree somewhat with Ear Drum. But "Soon the New Day" with Norah Jones was crazy for such a laid back track.
"The clan of the cavebear
Used to use the club to hit and drag her by the hair
Still use the club to get her a martini or a beer
Try to get her home and put the smell of sex in the air" ..that's crazy.
Favorite album of the year would be Little Brother's Getback. Even the intro they came in hard.. After the Party, Step Your Game Up, That Ain't Love, DREAMS, Can't Win For Losing, ...you could bump every track on that album, and even for different occasions. On the grind, about to party, life shit, world shit, ..it was all on that album.
I know I am gonna get TRASHED for this, but WHO is Little Brother?
^^got damn..

07 rap up:
best album- graduation/the cool
most slept on album- get back
biggest disappointment- b.a.r.s.
biggest surprise- free at last
worst album(just for good measure)- souljaboytellem.com
best mixtape(by far)- mood muzik 3, would have been a top 5 album this year...........
i thought ultimate victory was one of the best albums i heard not this year but one of the best ever.
just to snap some of you in line. most of the major record labels will fold in the next 18 months. This was in rollingstone mag #1 music mag in the world. nobody is going to get huge numbers anymore in this age of jacking and file sharing them days are over. most of the labels laid off all non essential people. the a&r departments are non existant in most labels. All the labels care about is money and they been losing so much they are giving out count them on one hand contracts now, then the artists gets like56 cents per cd after the label takes there cut. I agree with most of your list except richboy being a ringtone rapper. he been doing mixtapes for years and had some decent content on is cd. I havent bought a cd in 5 years and i never will buy another one. every cd released is available for free download the day there on the shelves , from many, many sites and blogs. only a fool would pay for music these days.
i always say if you really like an artist and you know its QUALITY go out and become OFFICIAL, sure you can be a fool and pay for the music.. but oh it feels 10x better when you go out and buy the actual product!!!
ye no point in buyin cds... wts the worst that happens... that artist gets dropped and is nvr heard about again.... buy the fuckin album
