Jay-Z taking over corporate America
Sean Carter has been busy making moves this week. Aside from releasing his album "American Gangster" on Tuesday which is on track to be the #1 album of the week, he also announced two large ventures for his empire:
Rocawear and Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics Partnership
Elizabeth Arden cosmetics announced a deal with Jay-Z's Rocawear for the development, marketing and distribution of men's and women's fragrance, cosmetics, and skincare products under the Rocawear name. A debut fragrance is planned to launch in the fall of 2008.
Jay-Z purchases Artful Dodger Clothing Line
Jay-Z has recently purchased the clothing line Artful Dodger for $15 million in cash. Those familiar with the deal think Jay-Z will be able to turn Artful Dodger into a high-end high-price fashion line that will have a much stronger presence in the urban fashion marketplace.
It's pretty safe to assume in the future though that the models showing off the Artful Dodger line will be a little more "diverse" than the current campaign. Check out the official Artful Dodger site here.

MORE Movies About hip-hop dancing
We thought Hollywood was done exploiting the teenager-saved-by-hip-hop dance movie...but we thought wrong. Not only is the previously announced Step Up 2: The Streets starring Diddy's girl Cassie coming out but so is another step movie called How She Move with cameos by Mya and Keyshia Cole. I really don't know how many versions of the same story we can take. Studios keep doing these movies though because they are cheap, easy to make and profitable. But that doesn't mean they aren't crap. We also do know for sure that a You Got Served sequel is definitley on hiatus.

The allover print thing is old now, but Artful Dodger is a hot company. There jeans are probably there staple, I own a couple pairs myself. Don't think I'll buy anymore though if the Rocawear brand has anything to do with the line though.
