Recently, there have been some weird things happening on Defsounds, so I wanted to take the time and fill you guys in on one of the biggest issues.

Firstly let me just say that if you guys experience any problems whatsoever with the site, use the contact link at the bottom of the page and hit us up immediately. We pride ourselves in creating an enjoyable user experience for you all and need to know of any issues you come across. Remember we relaunched a month ago today so it's still a work in progress--we still have a long way to go with alot more cool shit coming out for you all to play with.

Anyways, the biggest issue as of late was an ad hijacking your browser--basically when you browsed Defsounds.com it would redirect you to a website telling you your pc was infected with a virus and tried to get you to download harmful applications. The tricky part was that none of the heads here got the ad, only the users, so we couldn't verify. Here's what it looked like:

We received numerous complaints about it but couldn't track it down. After doing some digging we came across the greatest anti-spyware blog ever...seriously...ever....(don't question it...it's science) who hooked us up and tracked down the malicious ad, which we of course removed.

Evidentally, this has been happening to a whole lot more sites than just us, MLB.com, ESPN.com, and a bunch of other sites have been caught by the hijacking--so if you get it while browsing around, remember, it is NOT your computer.

Anyways, we'd like to apologize if you were one of those that downloaded that crap onto your computer--hopefully it's all taken care of now.

On another note, I'd like to give you all props on keeping most comments and discussions on a intelligent level, alot of the members who were here from the jump (a year ago) complained that things were getting too childish which caused them to stop commenting. I've been looking around and see those familiar faces (so to speak) posting comments again...real good look, guess the new comment functions helped tone down on the crap--that--or we're getting smarter members.

Also, user profiles will be rolled out in the following weeks so look out for that. We'll also be releasing embeds so that you can post single tracks on your myspace and what not. Oh yeah, I guess I can also take this time to get some feedback from you all so post your thoughts on how to improve and what'd you like to see in the comments.
