Anyways, onto todays blog of Awesomeness™. I had a brilliant idea--Why don't we do head to head once-a-week of imminent rap beefs or rap beefs we'd like to see? To start it off, lets go with the imminent beef between Joe Budden & Royce Da 5'9"
Now I know most of you are saying you'd rather have these two guys on a track than in a battle--but come on, when was the last time we had a battle of this lyrical caliber?
Recently on the "Joey Files"....
Joe flexed his ability in that mini-battle versus Ransom, but we all know that wasn't really a challenge for the Jersey native. It was more of a warm up.
Prior to that, something sparked between Saigon and Budden (which would've been another extremely lyrical battle) but nothing ever transpired between the two.
Most fans will remember the little spar between Budden & The Game, but honestly--I don't consider that a beef.
Recently on "Detroit Rock City"...
Royce's most recent beef would be another small sparring match on the same caliber as Joe Vs. Ransom, except Ransom can be accredited with more talent than Mistah FAB. Royce took some quick shots at FAB after a freestyle battle that he refused to participate in, thus giving FAB the win.
Prior to that, Royce was going back and forth with D12 members--the problem with that is that this beef was more of a physical 'real world' beef rather than a straight wax beef so we really didn't hear much jaw dropping battle lines.
From what we know, alot would assume Joe Budden would easily take out Royce in a battle. I say, this one is extremely hard to call. In my opinion, they are both equally lyrically gifted, they are both aggressive, and they have incredible flows. They also have about the same size fan base.

Will this battle probably ever happen? probably not, but if it does I would hope it stays to records and nothing more. Hip Hop doesn't need more beefs right now but it sure as hell needs some excitement.
As far as who I think will take this--I'm leaning a bit towards Royce due to his aggressiveness on tracks.

Royce is more lyrical by a long shot in my opinion. I like Budden alright but I think he gets way over hyped by depressed kids who spend to much time on the internet who like his emo rap lyrics and subject matter

I like Royce, and both these EMCees got CRAZY mixtapes.. People that only know "Pump it Up" about Joey are barely HipHop heads (NOTICE: I said people that only know that song from that artist, not sayin you have to like Joey's mixtapes but you would at least know of them) and it shows so I auto-discredit your posts after reading.
Personally I think Royce punch comes a little softer than Joey's but knows how to make up for that punch with the track, good flow. Joe's lyrics are fucking insane, a nice flow, but he's a lil less consistent with lining the punch with the beat cuz he raps so much (which I'm a fan of). So since I'm a "quality of lyric/bar/etc" type I'd go with Joe.
