Ok, moving on to the topic at hand..G-Unit and Young Buck...We SO called it, last year April 1st...we posted his departure from G-Unit as an April fools joke and POW...guess what happened a year later?..Thats right snitches Buck walks.
Honestly, I think this is what Buck wanted--but he didn't want to be the one to walk away or ask for his pink slip so he just started distancing himself.
Buck probably didn't want to seem as disloyal so he started talking wreckless and just generally doing shit you shouldn't do when you align yourself with 50.
Another thing we called, Dipset's Break Up (click to read) you know you've seen the pic below a million times by now...where do you think it came from? US!...We were on the money with that one..call us the Ms. Cleo's of hip hop...wait no..don't call us that...kinda gay.
Since we're talking about break ups, here are my top 5 worst Hip Hop Break ups...some with explanation some without.
#5. Hot Boyz/Big Tymers
These folks came in at number 5 for simply because they put their city on the map in BIG way, and for those of you who think Cash Money Records didn't really have an impact on the industry, between 1998 and 2001, Cash Money put out 18 Top Five Billboard singles and 11 platinum and multi-platinum albums. With the combination of those two groups.
They broke up of course over money disputes, Juvi and BG said Baby was stiffing them on pay--they both filed $5 Mil lawsuits after leaving but those were dismissed due to lack of evidence.
#4. A Tribe Called Quest
Sad day when they broke up, they received FIVE mics from the Source mag in 1990, back when it wasn't a corrupt bias piece of crap magazine.
Many people cite creative differences as the cause of their break up but a lot say fisticuffs were involved and someone got styled on.( I'm bringing 'Styled On' back..we're 4 months into 08 and we still don't have as good a phrase as that one)
#3. NWA
By far one of the most historical group in Hip hop, they did what was thought to be impossible at the time and brought Gangsta/ Hardcore rap into a mainstream arena.
They broke up after exposing Eazy E and Jerry Heller’s shady business practices. Though the break up was bad, most of the group members did go on to better themselves and their careers.
#2. Children Of The Corn
Alot of you will hate for this one, but if you know Hip Hop, you'll appreciate this coming in at #2. They weren't necessarily mainstream and they weren't necessarily underground, they were trying to make it big but tragedy struck more than once.
Big L, Cam' Ron, Mase, Bloodeshed, & McGruff got together around Midlate 90's to form the group. They released a compilation album entitled The Collector’s Edition however never got the chance to sign a deal due to the death of Bloodshed and Mase & Cam’ron quitting the rap game.
In 1999, Big L was shot and killed putting a definite end to the group.
#1. Fugees
The most talented collective in Hip Hop, the Fugees put out amazing music but were broken up primarily due to Lauryn Hill's and Wyclef's love affair.
They tried going back in the lab last year but evidentally Lauryn hill has lost her fucking mind and is now a baby making machine somewhere in New Jersey.
Honarable mentions go to EPMD, Gang Starr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Dipset(?), and some others I can't remember.
