#5. Shady Aftermath Vs. Murda Inc, Benzino, Source
First it started as 50 Vs Ja--then it quickly turned into an all out brawl between each camp and Benzino. Now no one really knows exactly why Benzino tagged along on this beef, but we all do know he got lyrically raped in every track by Eminem.
As far as the 50 Vs. Ja goes, I think we all can agree this definitely cut the legs off Ja's career.
#4. Nas Vs. Jay Z
I had to second guess myself putting this one at #4 mostly because I don't want the Nassholes and Jigga Jockers to unite like voltron and kick my ass. But hear me out for a sec, yes this beef was great, and YES IT BROUGHT NAS BACK TO LIFE as well as the East Coast. Plus how many beef tracks have turned into a verb?
#3. LL Cool J Vs. Cannibus/ LL Cool J Vs. Kool Mo Dee
Together at #3 are the battles between LL & Cannibus and LL & Kool Mo Dee. If you're a young'n then you probably think Nas Vs. Jay should be in this spot or higher on the list, but if you're a real hip hop fan you'd know that this beef delivered some of the greatest diss tracks.
Mama Said Knock You Out, 2nd Round K.O., To The Break Of Dawn and few others. This beef brought out the best in all three of these MCs.
#2. Ice Cube Vs. NWA
I really wanted to put this one at #1, because well..how many rappers you know have destroyed a supergroup in their career?
No Vaseline is one of the sickest diss tracks ever. NWA's playful diss tracks were no match for Cube's verbal rape.
#1. Tupac Vs. Biggie
You know you saw this one coming, I had to put this at #1 because this beef actually cost hip hop two great MCs...it also more or less changed the shape of hip hop for years to come, before Pac vs. Biggie, beefs were nothing more than lyrical sparring.
