Speaking of Prodigy, does anyone have any respect for this guy anymore? better yet does anyone care about what he has to say? Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big Mobb Deep fan, Shook Ones part 2, Get Away, Burn, etc, they have some great work but Prodigy is a fucking moron.
So here's my top 10 Reasons why Prodigy should shut the fuck up.
10. It's 2008...the last time you were semi relevant and had some heat was in 2004 with Amerikaz Nightmare. You said rapping isn't for everyone...well lil fella, rapping isn't a lifetime career either.
9. You're just not hot without Havoc...Alchemist is cool and you put out some semi-ok work with him, but stick to the winning formula..you're awful solo.
8. You thought putting out an album in bagillion languages would be cutting edge enough to get sales. I took a chance and listened to the Spanish version of HNIC2, when I was done I called cablevision up and had them remove telemundo from my lineup--thanks to you I now hate Spanish people.
7. You named Lupe Fiasco and Saigon amongst your list of wack rappers. Now I'm not the biggest fan of either of those rappers, but they're skills on the mic are blatant. There's a difference between having an opinion and just talking shit.
6. You let a muscly midget perform on stage with you then proceed to punch you and run out the club unharmed. You can't keep claiming you're a gangsta after that. Saigon got a clean shot on you and you're still talking shit.
5. You have a blog. Gangsta's don't keep blogs...You're gonna update your blog from prison...with what?..WTF would be so interesting happening in prison that you have to inform your 2 fans? Havoc and Alchemist have better things to do than to read how Charlie from Cellblock F almost dropped the soap.

I think prodigy is pretty fake as a person but on the same coin so are most of these rap niggas.
Mobb Deep had 3 of my favorite CDs out the 90s and it kind of sucks to see them take such a nosedive but whatever, I dont think prodigy ever recovered from the summer jam screen. I also have to agree with everything jokesta said in his blog about P being fake and stupid.
With all that said I still either buy or download all of Mobb Deeps music. Even Blood Money had some fire on it. Havoc is one of the illest producers to ever do it. He was never given his credit but his beats molded a certain part of the golden era that will always be there. The bottom line for me is that Hav & P are still some ill ass niggas and are responsible for infamous, hell on earth and murda muzik which are all classics in my eyes.
But P be fuckin up. He fucked it up good for havoc. If not for Prodigy begging Jay to slay him in a battle he could never have been ready for, Mobb Deep might still be coveted as giants in the hip-hop industry. Its bad when your from NY and Nas & Jay have both aired you out on wax.

I disagree with 9, he's better solo these days. On his solo albums he steps his game up and reminds you he can rap and why you ever fucked with him in the first place.
The quality of the work he put out with Havoc doesn't even begin to compare to the quality of the work he puts out solo
Them Mobb albums these days be so so, be like 3 or 4 cuts off each one you can really fuck wit like that. But HNIC, Return of the Mac, and the like 3 joints I heard off HNIC 2, are all solid.

Prodigy is still livin off the momentum of one classic album.
He never was a great lyricist. His style just had a certain level of authenticity that set him apart from alot of rappers.
They also used alot of classic samples on that infamous album! Its not hard to sound pretty good over a great beat.
Prodigy is one of the most overated rappers ever! I also used to think that he was much better than he really is.
After the "infamous album" Havoc started makin all the beats so they could save money and not have to pay for so many samples.
Thats when I started to realize dat Prodigy's bars aint really as potent as I thought they were!
Go back and listen to that "infamous album" It's one of the most well put together albums ever in terms of music. Almost every beat is a classic. I cant think of a beat on that album dats not bangin!
