Alright folks, I wanted to bring attention to some new features we've rolled out this week so lets jump right into it.
Artist Profiles:
If you look at the navigation bar up top, you'll notice there's a new section called Artists. This is basically a directory of all Hip Hop artists that have been featured/mentioned in a story on Defsounds. Right now there are about 50 in there but we'll be adding them until we have a complete directory so give us some time. An artist profile is basically your portal for everything about that Artist, Bio, Music, Videos, News, etc. The bio is pulled from Wikipedia so save your complaints...the singles, videos, and news are all from Defsounds--This basically allows you to keep track of your favorite artist's latest music and all that jazz in one neat place. If you take a look at an artist profile..example Jay Z, you'll notice a "favorite" button..this ties into the next new feature.
User Profiles:
We've rolled out a lite version of user profiles with very limited customization--we'll allow you guys to do more and add more things to it soon. As of now here's a quick run down of the features:
Recently Commented On: You can check out other users most recent comments and see what stories they're currently active in.
Favorites & Last Read: You now have the option to mark stories, singles, videos, and editorials down as favorites. This allows you to return to page quickly as well as give other users a better idea of what you're in to.
Favorite Artists: Find an artist you like in the directory and add him to your favorite..you'll receive alerts when a new article or single from that artist is posted.
Youtube Vid: We know you all would probably want some music or vid in your profile so for now, just go to youtube and grab the link of whatever you want in your pro.
Profile Comments: As with anything on Defsounds, you can comment eacho thers profiles and keep in touch..soon we'll be rolling out a buddy system that'll allow you to add friends, message, and all that myspacey crap.

good shit im feelin tha user profile and all dat, but the artist profile to me is useless cause im pretty sure everybody who comes in here know everything they need to know about all the rappers. And thats just my opinion no need to trash my comment!
Well the user profile is just a place to stay up to date on that specific artist since we list all the latest things like News and music.
Example, if you like lil wayne and want to know what his last single was, just go to his profile and its there.
plus, judging by the comments--some of you definitely need to read up..
