Being a FAN of Nas (and by no means a STAN) I completely disagree with this joker...i mean Jokesta, excuse me. First off, Nas is stating none other than facts throughout the theme of this album. More important than what it's entitled is the content. And the content has remained consistent. The content is equivalent to what my old heads tell me about what went on in the south, the struggles black people (and most other minorities) have gone through and continue to experience TO THIS DAY all OVER this country. Now, the difference between me and my old heads, is I can walk around and say "nigga" 100 times a day. THEY on the other hand have deeper resentment toward that word b/c they were personally demeaned and called that or "boy" on a regular basis growing up and as adults. So when conversing with them, I refrain from using the word, nigger/nigga, whatever, b/c I respect what they've gone through.

Now, the fact that Nas changed the name of his album doesn't mean he copped out. First, the nigga raps for a living. That's how he makes his money. His record company is paid the same way, but since they don't tour with him, they mainly are paid through album sales. How many units do you honestly think he can move with an album entitled "Nigger?" Just cuz a few internet bloggin niggas are determined to buy the album doesn't guarantee great record sales. Could u fuckin imagine the lines of protesters, who ironically believe in what Nas talks about on the album, lined up outside of records stores across the nation on July 15th, PROTESTING the albums release due to the simple fact that their ignorance did not allow them to give the album a fair listen?

Second, it may well have been personal reasons as to why he changed the title. My point remains, the content is the same, pure genius material he intended for the album.
