Is there ANY Hip-Hop droppin’ this year or what???? I’ve copped ONE cd, AZ’s Undeniable, which was pretty typical AZ – which is good for me, since I’m a fan. Nothin’ wack, yet nothin’ extraordinarily spectacular (like a say, One Mic, per se’).

Anyhow, in the last 2 weeks, I’ve copped:
1. E=MC^2 – Mariah Carey; pretty good but not her best album.
2. Lyfe Change – Lyfe Jennings; not bad, though I’m still fond on his debut album. I love the track: Cops Up! … got it bangin’ on my myspace page:http://www.myspace.com/charismaticlee3/> 3. Shine – Estelle; she’s no Amy, or even a Corinne, but her album is GREAT! On my recommendation, I don’t know WHAT made me buy it, but this album gets EXTREMELY strong near the last 4 or 5 tracks. How often does that happen.

I only copped the sheek louch album silverback gorrilla so far…its pretty good. About to get that A.Z. as well, but as far as that, thats about it as of right now…

Good look! On some real talk, I didn’t even know Sheek Louch dropped an album… I MAY show him some love; I’ve never really been a fan of the L.O.X. outside of Jada. Jada is NASTY…

That is one of the best albums that was put out between ANY member of the LOX..


His best song on there (my opinion) is 3-5-4…I think thats track 12 or something..

But anyway, silverback is a pretty solid album..Nothing SPACTACULAR, But its hot regardless..

Matic, Badu’s joint was far from her best, I put it on level with that Lyfe joint which had a few standout cuts. The American Ironman mixtape is art, creative genius. Jay-Z over the Ironman inatro’s and Ghost over American Gangster, it gets no better. Elephant in the room and Elephant in the sand were equally boring with Joey gettin’ the edge production wise, Rising Up(the roots) is easily head and shoulders above anything I’ve heard hip hop wise this year, and if you stray beyond hip hop, Gnarls Barkley put together a really good album as well. Oh, and the “Blood is thicker than water” mixtape is hot too, BWS outshine Dipset and Young Money(no surprise) but each crew had a gem or two on that one. It’s been a good year, you just can’t rely on the same ish, experiment.

Last word: notable singles….“Criminal”-The Roots ft. Truck North & Saigon.

Love to Skeeaz; I’ll check out that 3-5-4 tonight when I get home from work. I copped Super Gangsta, the week it dropped; unfortunately, on 40,000 other people copped it with me. I am not really THAT fond of it, but it’s cool.

Freeze, I was @ the store, STARING @ the Prodigy album, and just couldn’t bring myself to do it. It was only $7, but I guess I STILL have repressed emotions from that Source article from ‘01 where he thoroughly made an ass of himself when Jay put him up on that Summer Jam screen, blamin’ it on Ashanti, who DENIED (of course) the allegations, saying she didn’t even know Jay then. I need to hear about 6 or 7 BANGERS for me to come to grips and cop that Prodigy album.

757, Big Doe Rehab over American Gangster? How about HIP-HOP ALBUM OF THE YEAR (2007)! Ghost put in that work; there was NO better album, though a lot sold more, which is MESSED UP! Is it the promotion or what? And, Erykah’s album was THE WORST cd I ever heard in my life; I copped it off the strength of her name – I mean, c’mon, it’s ERYKAH!! My dudes @ the barber shop didn’t believe me so we banged it in there and EVERYONE agreed that it was straight GAR-BAHJ. Lyfe’s joint, IMO, is WAYYYYY better!! Even so, 757, you put out a quality comment with some tracks I’m not too familiar with, so I’ll check ’em out!

Absolutely! Why people keep yellin’ P is beyond a mystery to me. P’s a has been. He was one of the best out, but since his style changed, his music began to deteriorate just like the way he looks, no homo. Budden hit that on the head, he do look like he on meth or sumthin’. I hate to bring Wayne on this post but if you notice, he’s been fallin’ off since he switched to the slow, syrup induced flow too. These guys rap like Ali and Holyfield talk, like they missin’ some words, and they can barely get the one’s out they spit. Just compare P’s flow on “Apostle’s Warning,” to anything he spit since Infamy. Same with Wayne, compare “BMJR,” to anything he’s spit in the last six to eight months and you’ll notice a dramatic change. All that dope is like goin’ 12 rounds with a heavyweight, it takes alot out of you, especially for a known sickle cell nigga like P. As for Sai, he’ll get over it. Sai and Joe are two of the best young East Coast cats out, they’ll come together somewhere down the road. Hot line from Joey, at that.
