The Three Headed Monster Owns The Decade

by MrWhiteFolks on December 22nd, 2009

http://media.defsounds.com/uploads/assets/869/941/30545/asset.jpegThe Three Headed Monster has cleaned up Billboards decade ending charts. Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr Dre all take top spots.

Eminem ends the decade on a high note, as he was named Billboards Artist Of The Decade. In total, Eminem has had 28 track entries on the Hot 100 chart since 1999. Em’s top hits on the chart include My Name Is and Lose Yourself.

Billboards Top 10 Artists Of The Decade are as follows.

1. Eminem

2. Usher

3. Nelly

4. Beyonce

5. Alicia Keys

6. 50 Cent

7. Nickleback

8. Britney Spears

9. Destiny’s Child

10. Jay-Z

50 Cent can join Eminem on top, as he was ranked the Best Rap Artist Of The Decade. 50’s award stems from his hit single In Da Club. 50’s single was Billboard magazine's number one single of 2003. It was the first time since 1994 that an artist had both the number one song (In Da Club) and album for the year (Get Rich or Die Tryin’). 50 spent 45 weeks on top of the Rap Songs Chart this decade, more than any other rapper can claim.

Billboards Top 10 Rap Artists Of The Decade are as follows

1. 50 Cent

2. T.I.

3. Ludacris

4. Jay-Z

5. Nelly

6. Kanye West

7. Lil Wayne

8. Missy Elliot

9. Ja Rule

10. Sean Paul

Now we have Eminem and 50 Cent leading the way in their respective categories, and we all know you can't have Em and 50 without Dr Dre, so we have the good Doctor on top of the Decades Best R&B & Rap Albums chart with 2001 also refered to as The Chronic 2001 by some. 2001 was the second studio album released by Dre and it debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 charts with sales of over 550,000 units. Within the 1st year of its release 2001 was certified six times platinum in sales by RIAA. And we cant forget it also helped to establish Eminem’s career with the hit single Forgot About Dre.

Billboards Top 10 Hip Hop/R&B Albums are as follows

1 Dr Dre – 2001

2. Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP

3. DMX – And Then There Was X

4. Nelly – Country Grammar

5. R. Kelly – TP-2.Com

6. Mariah Carey - The Emancipation Of Mimi

7. Eminem – The Eminem Show

8. Usher – Confessions

9. 50 Cent – Get Rich Or Die Tryin

10. 50 Cent – The Massacre

Snoop also ranked on top of the decade list for Best Rap Single with his hit Drop It Like It’s Hot featuring Pharrell.

The Billboard decade ending ratings are compiled from information gathered from dates December 4th, 1999 to November 28th, 2009.

what i dont get is how Em can be number one on Top Ten Artists of the Decade and not even appear on the Top Ten Rap Artists of the decade. and i just dont think 50 should have been first on that list……

get a tissue and wipe ja’s jizz off your face and take a look at the facts dude! 50 based off his first couple albums killed any artist in the game, as stated above! when he entered the game the dude spit straight fire and was knockin dudes like ja the fuck out of the game! so shut your cock sucker up or better yet insert ja’s dick some more so i dont gotta hear your shit!

but i will say since 50’s first couple of albums the dudes fell off, the rap game that is. on the other hand 50s makin that dough through his entrepreneurship not off album sales anymore… i mean BSID was aight but it aint no Get Rich or Die Tryin’. im not dissin 50 just sayin it how it is.

Billboard is slightly off, they know more than MTV and that whacked-ass “hottest rapper” list, but still they a little off.

Em is the artist of the decade because he sold the most albums and his singles did good on the hot 100 list but his singles didn’t do good on the rap charts. Like a rap song can be number 1 on the hot 100 charts but not the rap charts, idk how that can happen but that is how Billboard does it.

good observation dboss. this only lets you know not to get caught up with all these “top” lists that will be coming out, nothing but nonsense. billboard really messed up on this one and i bet it wasnt intentional. just shows how these lists are compilled…….

Can people read? Look at the dates the information was gathered from, that would explain why 2001 was up there. Also I’d say this list is pretty accurate, hate all you want but I’d say there’s no denying people’s spots on any of these lists if you actually think about this past decade with an open mind and not just hating because your favorite rapper is at the bottom of/didn’t even make the list.

lol I love how all the people complain about these kinds of lists. If they had it your way, than chances are somebody else would be upset. It’s impossible to satisfy everybody so they try their best… if you disagree than make your own list, but guess what? Nobody cares about your list so shut the hell up!

the thing is with em is that he isnt seen as a rap artist. i remember watching a program on channel 4 called best pop star of the decade and em was nominated alongside britney spears kylie minogue, pink, maddona, justin timberlake, take that, girls aloud, beyonce and robbie williams

true.
but idk why is that so..
i mean eminem is a rapper..
maybe it’s the record sales..like “rappers can’t sell that much” (i guess pac wasn’t a rapper either) smh

no is because most of em’s singles are pop
replyReply | 0 props | propProp | trashTrash
detroitshero2 months ago
actually his leading single is a pop single the rest of his singles are hardcore or some true to the life shit… most of these so called gangsta rappers are the ones putting out the pop singles with all these love songs… look at most of 50 cent singles… look at jay-z last album his last 2 singles are pop singles “new york” and “forever young” and yes granted they are hot but they are still pop singles.

so it’s not fair to say that most of em’s singles are pop when you weigh his singles against an averge rapper he put mney up he has actuaaly more hardcore hiphop singles than your average rapper which is why after 3 albums loose yourself was his first number one hit and that was on a soundtrack.

ye but when em puts out a pop single its usauly something corny n poppy like ‘without me’ ‘we made you’ ‘jus lose it’ when 50 or jay come out with a single its more leaning to a r n b joint which is why iguess some poel see em as a pop artsist however i stil see him as a rapper one of the best but not the best that accolade should only go to jay z due to his consistency even though old school nas >>>> any jigga

God, you guys seriously need to stop missing your GED classes. Billboard is simply the pop charts and collects data on what music is bought, played on the radio, etc. Their work involves ABSOLUTELY ZERO opinion and they are simply stating the facts. Nelly, Ja Rule, and fucking Missy Elliot should not be on any list, but they sold enough records to put them on there – so you won’t find me complaining. Stop with the, “they’re slightly off”, “this list is better than mtvs” or “they got it right”….of course they got it fucking right, they are Billboard.

VA!!! Missy Elliot up there.
They were going by album sales on the artist lists. That’s why Kanye was not on there aznd why Jay-Z was so low on the list.

R you people retarded this is a very good list. Its based off of facts. “50 cent is number 1 rap artist of the decade” why because if you combine all his #1’s time lines and add them up they equal 45 weeks. that equals higher then any other rapper therefore is #1 rapper. Billboards is baseing their rankings onf acts and stats not who they think is good, Like Mtv and Rolling stone. But i do not agree on the order dre went 5x plat but em went 9x plat?

Billboards Top 10 Hip Hop/R&B Albums are as follows
( us sales)

1 Dr Dre – 2001= 6x Plat

2. Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP= 9x Plat

3. DMX – And Then There Was X= 5x Plat

4. Nelly – Country Grammar=6x Plat

5. R. Kelly – TP-2.Com= 8x Plat

6. Mariah Carey – The Emancipation Of Mimi= 10x Plat

7. Eminem – The Eminem Show=8x Plat

8. Usher – Confessions= 8x Plat

9. 50 Cent – Get Rich Or Die Tryin=6x Plat

10. 50 Cent – The Massacre=5x Plat
