How many features does he have. Lil wayne, travis barker, K. Cole, Ludacris, Nas. Do you think they were on his album for free? He also picked more expensive producers like cool and dre, kanye, dj quick, dj troomp, trackmasters. I bet he spent millions. He probably didn’t have enough money in the budget to spent on marketing.

The Unit on the other hand kept their album way more street. They had one cheap video, no features, besides swiss beats, all their producers were hungry newcomers that will work for less. Some of them may have even done it for free. I know a friend , pete beatz, who gave a way a beat to Terminology for his next album for free just to get his name out there. Also the Unit are doing under their own label. I don’t know if Game has his own label but if he doesn’t he’s screwed.

If you ask me TOS is more of a success then LAX. With so much effort Game put it he will not get much out.

White people support their artists by actually going out to buy the album while we (not including myself) sit at the computer and download the album, hate it, and “persuade” others to not buy it. So Hip Hop is dying because the newer artists put out trashy music and we go out and support the bad or less lyrically gifted rappers because we don’t want to think. Nas’s album hasn’t went Gold because people are calling it “racist” and “un-American.” But like he said on “Testify”, he doesn’t need us because he can go Gold with it. Also, people think going Gold is a flop now? Last time I checked, a certain album released on October 2, 2007 went Platinum and it is complete trash! Also, another album released on March 3, 2005 sold over 10 million worldwide and that too is garbage! When did a RIAA certification determine how talented you are? People don’t want to hear a Nas album because he’s too intellectual and what he said on “Let There Be Light” is absolutely true. “I can’t sound smart cause ya’ll run away/they said I ain’t hunger no more and I don’t talk about yay” is true because people would rather buy a Young Jeezy album than a Nas album because they like the beats on the Jeezy album. Personally, beats do not make the rapper. The producer makes the beats. People would rather listen to a “Lollipop”, a “Crank That,” or a “Put On” before they would hear a song with actual meaning or words. The fans of this generation are picky and do not want a song with words with more than three syllables. I bought the Pharoahe Monch and the Talib Kweli albums and I could care less what they sold because they can kill off 95% of the rap game just by doing a song together. I listened to Pro Tools, Undeniable, and some of the classics and they didn’t get a RIAA certification. Look at Sticky Fingaz. He didn’t go Platinum or Gold every release, but he could still destroy you. Blacktrash is an underrated classic. The Roots haven’t went Platinum. AZ hasn’t went Platinum. Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Kool G Rap, Canibus, and EMPD haven’t went Platinum yet they are highly respected when it come to lyrics. As far as SoundScan, who cares? Sales do not make the rapper. In conclusion, if I sold 200,000 or more in a week, I would be proud instead of calling it a flop after ONE WEEK ON THE SHELVES.
